You hit that one exactly right. I had to have a NCIC check, an FBI check done and fingerprints run to obtain my CCW. This is exactly the same checks that my wife had to go through to teach.
When put in context it only supports that with proper certification and training teachers should be encouraged to be able to protect the children they are responsible for.
