"Step Two is to pass a sense of the House resolution that acknowledges before the nation that the Second Amendment is NOT about hunting, or even home protection, but is the guarantee that the People will always be armed as protection against standing armies and tyrannical, criminal government."

I really like this idea!

"The bottom line to this is that ending the death penalty is, like gun control, a major priority of the leftists, as well as having considerable overlap with violent gun crime."

Another of their favorites is ending "three strikes" laws. Too many of their "root constituencies" are ending up incarcerated for life, in which state they cannot vote (or at least not easily).

You are correct. The libs own the use of words. We must start by not using their terms.

No longer use the term assualt weapon. (All weapons are assualt weapons.) We must start using the term Defensive rifle.

But alas, the media will never allow the use of terms not of their design.

SAS Sergeant Danny Nightingale faces losing home to fund campaign for justice

An SAS sergeant jailed for illegally possessing a war trophy may be forced to sell his home to help fund the campaign to clear his name

Sgt Danny Nightingale is mounting a challenge in the Court of Appeal to his conviction for being in possession of a Glock pistol and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

He already faces a legal bill of more than £100,000 for the appeal over his sentence, which reduced the 18 months’ military detention imposed by a court martial to a 12-month suspended sentence.

Sgt Nightingale, an SAS sniper, had been given a pistol by members of an Iraqi special forces unit that he helped to train.

We have the same law in Indiana but I have yet to see someone open carry.

When push comes to shove, an organized militia will be the only/best answer to these statist gun-grabbers, but organization and resistance had better happen muy pronto, or there won’t be a snowball’s chance in hell to preserve the Second Amendment. If anyone thinks the Second Amendment will be preserved through politics, he/she is dreaming.

I will join you. I would also add that we take seriously responsibilities like gun safety training and keeping guns secure when not in use.

Good point, and well made...

IMHO, you are both right and make good points...How to proceed?

We should concentrate immediate efforts to stop their current grab as you point out, and once that’s stopped then concentrate on roll back as ez suggests...

Humble suggestion: The key is a full court press to stop the grab, and then rollback with our pro-2nd Amendment Reps and Senators...Hold their feet to the fire...

What’s that the pols say? “When I feels the heat, I sees the light...” Or some such...Keep up the pressure...

A letter is considered by the pols to be worth several phone calls or emails because of the effort involved...

Letters to my Rep and Senators go out Monday morning, backed up with phone calls...

Another dimension of the “Soap Box”...

Our “Ballot Box” efforts have failed us for now...So let’s exhaust the “Soap Box” before we turn to talk of the “Cartridge Box”...

I am hoping my representative wants to make a name for himself on this issue. We’ll find out soon enough.

A letter it is then. I have no recourse in the Senate with Schumer and Gillibrand...they are quintessential socialist gun-grabbers.

I agree with your opinion on felons owning firearms. the issue of felons owning firearms was simply a way for the socialist to get their “nose in the tent” on gun control, exciting Americans against “felons in possession” of firearms!

If someone has served their time, paid their debt to society in full, what right does the government have to prevent him or her from exercising their basic fundamental right to keep an bear arms?

Now, it is any firearm that has one (1) characteristic of a "military style" from which Americans will be prohibited from possessing. God help a single Republican who votes in favor of this proposed gun control bill that Fienstien admits they have been working on for more than one (1) year! That should tell every American exactly what is really going on! The socialist were just waiting for a shooting the could exploit to push their never ending gun control legislation! 82nd ABN Div. 1/508th BN

We used to lock dangerous people up permanently but again liberals had to show compassion for people who deserved none and the result was unleashing these dangerous people back into society. The idiot who ambushed police should have done at least 50 or 60 years for beating his grandmother to death with a hammer. Instead was out of prison in under 20 years and had a gun anyway.

I have a cousin sentenced to life for beating an old man to death with a baseball bat while the old man was laying in bed. If I'm ever asked to testify at a parole hearing I'll tell them to keep him till he dies.
