Obama hopes to enact new gun-control measures in 2013

President Obama on Sunday said he would make gun control a priority in his new term, pledging to put his “full weight” behind passing new restrictions on firearms in 2013.

“I'm going to be putting forward a package and I'm going to be putting my full weight behind it,” said Obama in an interview aired on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I'm going to be making an argument to the American people about why this is important and why we have to do everything we can to make sure that something like what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary does not happen again.”

I'm not pissed. You are.

That I didn't vote in lockstep with your liberal candidate.

I've said from the time Romney locked the nomination (explain the early Florida primary and counting all those delegates again?) that I lost, no matter who won.

You, on the other hand, want to blame someone, anyone, for your loss, besides, of course, those responsible.

So you are blaming a guy whose vote made absolutely no difference. I got told that right here on FR.

The only sound anyone might ever hear is a quiet 'snick' as the safety got moved, or the knife came out of the blade guard.

I'm not big on being an aural target.

Are you serious?

You're blaming others for Romney...are you not? You saw Romney as a “loss”...right? Seems to me you're doing the same thing that you condemn others for doing.

At least we chose to deal with reality, and tried to remove a known Marxist from office. What did you do? Nothing! My conscious is clear...at least I tried.

What makes me sick about phony “Patriots” like yourself, is that you hold more contempt for Romney than Obama...even after what you witnessed over the past 3+ years.

You helped Obama win reelection; you are NO Patriot! You are a self-serving, self-rightous, phony!

Look, kiddo, my vote did nothing for Romney or Obama, either way. So you are barking up the wrong tree.

Electoral college. Remember that part of civics?

My conscience is clear because I didn't vote for a liberal.

No, Romney winning is about the same as Obama winning. My point of view loses either way.

I'm not into killing babies, banning firearms, and socialized medicine. Both of them are.

Get right down to it, I don't particularly like long walks in the rain, either. I got to do plenty of those.

You keep whining, and pointing fingers at anyone you can, that had nothing to do with the GOP-E pushing an east-coast liberal as a candidate, and rest assured that your next time will be just exactly like your last time.

You own this, lock, stock, barrel.

GOOD! Make 2013 the gun control year and the populace will make 2014 into 1994 all over again at the polls. But more aggressively. I could see retaking the Senate and strengthening our grip on the House. Big time.

"If Obama is making gun control a priority, what are the chances of this turning our like some of his other priorities?

His #1 priority was jobs and look how that turned out. He was laser focused on the economy and that turned out just as good."

Exactly. Even more to the point, 2A polls miserably for the Left, because it motivates the Right.

For the Left, promoting 2A restrictions amount to spending hefty political capital to buy the same vote twice, ie the small nutcore of gun-grabbers who are going to vote Left anyway.

It's a total loser for them and everything they've done so far is lip service.

Prediction: full scale militarization by the cartels of the extensive ranch lands they have bought for cash from San Antonio to Laredo to El Paso to Deming, NM, millions of acres. They will become more active militarizing the drug transport.

We're safe because he's his “full weight” behind his gun control proposals. Obama's a lightweight. We'll be fine.

Oh stuff your fake self-righteous indignation, my vote was mine to cast; it did not belong to any party, especially not one that placed such a liberal as its flag bearer. So sick of hearing the vote X or it’s a vote for Y bullshit.

When/if the GOP ever puts a real, and I’ll drop the bar REAL low here, Conservative (I’d want a Constitutionalist), I’ll give ‘em my vote.

I’ll see if I can get a hat passed around for your cranial rectal inversion procedure.

Why is Obama pushing this country into civil war?

With big majorities worshipping the ground Obama walks on? I doubt there'll be a civil war. There'll be pockets of resistance, but no civil war.

Libertarians = person with no moral compass and not willing to stand up for what is not necessarily right but what is needed unless their myopic agenda is the focus.

Very similar to the tepid churches in Revelations.

“not willing to stand up for what is not necessarily right “

Oh yea, that’s a winning formula!

I meant whether the issue is right or wrong libertarians will not stand one way or the other unless it is in their specific agenda. The rest they figure isn’t important. Well to the other 95% of voters it is and so the libertarian will always be the spoiler or incidental voter. Just like the nerd kid that gets picked last, he is mad at both sides for not picking him first.

Like it or not, you helped Obama win. That's your legacy kiddo. Patriots don't help known Marxists stay in office.

Since Obama was the alternative to Romney, and you chose to not vote for Romney, you effectively helped Obama. This means you were willing to accept a known Marxist for a second term. You have no room to bit*h about anything regarding Obama. You helped him win a second term.

Stupid is as stupid does. Apparently you've spent far too much time in the rain.

Wah. Call me when you can put up a candidate that is conservative and can win.

You own this abject failure of conservatism.

BTW, if I had voted for Romney, nothing would have changed. My vote didn't count, except to not support a liberal.

So you are saying they have convictions that are different than yours.

Great.
