Watched a TV interview a few months ago of four older (40’ish) Black women from Chicago who had gone to school and learned to do all kinds of finishing work inside new residential construction. Said they could not get jobs in the construction industry because they were not in any Union. One of them who had her back to the camera said the Union business manager told her to go get a job hoeing in somebody’s garden. So I would suspect there is more to this story than is being told.

Something that's never discussed in "polite society" is the fact that unions are first and foremost, designed to limit who gets the jobs, and just like the guilds of long ago, they were designed to make sure that "the rabble" is kept out." BTW, how many of big union leaders are minorities? Or are they just a bunch of old, white guys? Or young white guys from the "right" families?

Oh I didn’t think about that. Dang, tough break. But since this is all happening inside the Democrats’ own tent I can’t say that I feel really sorry for them. Petard hoisting and all that.
