The online website and facebook for the paper was purchased by a group who has started an online paper that will also print once a week, run by at least one of the former editors of the paper.

It will be interesting to see where they go with that.

I haven’t signed up with the new group; I’m looking forward to taking a little break from writing, and they haven’t asked me.

I do need to work out with them the ownership of the online versions of my columns, since I don’t know exactly who I have to get permission to reblog from any more.

This is the link for one online local news source; this was started by a couple people who lost their jobs earlier from the paper, and they bought out the online stuff from the dying paper.

Manassas Local

It remains to be seen if this source is of any real value.

As a former N&M subscriber I have mixed feelings about this. It’s sad to see another local newspaper go down,

but

it has sucked for years. They pretty much just reprinted wire stories and press releases, plus a very few inscrutable local stories.

I hope that this year is the worst year that buffett has ever endured. I wish him all of the ill will and tragedy that there is in this infected evil world. All that I want is for his life to be ruined like the millions of American lives that he has destroyed. I know this is not Christian but I am not perfect either.

I know it stunk in the 80s. I haven't had contact since.

Michael Savage was just talking about this. He said Buffet bought it, fired 72 employees then shut it down because the paper was critical of him.

That's what the AJC in Atlanta has been doing for the past 15 years. If you want to know what's in today's AJC, just find a four-day-old copy of USA Today.
