Good subreference, love that old music. But i was referring to the Battle of Athens Tennessee, where citizens were forced to use rifles to set the republic right. It seems like the republic is now headed towards Athens Greece on a rocket sled. So i’m wondering if it will take the Athens Tennessee remedy to set the USA right again?

Those thoughts certainly come to mind in these times.

Savage was on the radio tonight suggesting some new civil war may be in the offing.

I’m reading a history book on the years before the Civil War right now.

Lets not forget that Barack Obama speaks of Lincoln as his favorite among presidents.

Is there irony in that or some deliberation to create civil war conditions in the present?

I know not the truth, but keep the powder dry for now.

The side that overreacts with what the media will certainly characterize as “violence” gets the nose dive in public opinion losing the argument for freedom.

Lincoln distanced himself from the likes of John Brown, as an example.

Non-violent resistance may work better, but the media that sainthooded the Civil Rights protests about race in the 1960’s was less sympathetic to the Pro-Life Operation Rescue protests in the late 1980’s-early 1990’s.

Some other thoughts.

How did the Athens thing sort out back in the 1940’s?

I’m trying to remember.

I have a strong Pro-Life background in my political activism and I remember the guy who murdered that abortionist George Tiller.

He had left his wife and was living with a woman he wasn’t married to.

The guy was a law unto himself making his own rules and ignoring the ones my Higher Power set down.

A decision on using force is certainly a time to pause and consider one’s relationship to the rules about what’s right and wrong.

Dr. Martin Luther King resorted to using the force of non-violent protest with varying degrees of success and he had a secret sex life that was way out of control.
