Children of Privilege Busted in Occupy Bomb Scheme

You’ve got to admire the “ethics” of the Occupy Wall Street crowd. All that looking out for the humble 99 percent while going after the evil 1 percent must be exhausting.

Thank goodness, then, for the 1.5 percenters who are actually in charge of the Occupy movement and put in the work to bring about the sort of change that’s so needed in this country.

A couple of Occupiers were doing just that recently when “the man” nabbed them and charged them with making bombs and hoarding weapons.

Morgan Gliedman and Aaron Greene were busted at their Greenwich Village apartment with an explosive compound called HMTD, a flare launcher, shotgun, high-capacity magazines, notebooks containing formulas for explosives, instructions for converting semiautomatic guns to full auto, along with papers in a cover titled “The Terrorist Encyclopedia.”

Gliedman is the daughter of one of New York’s most prominent doctors and grew up on Park Avenue. Her mother is a successful Realtor. She graduated from the private Dalton School in 2002.

Her boyfriend Greene, the sperm donor for her ninth-month bun in the oven, is a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and some sort of big shot in Occupy, according to the New York Post. He has a list of priors including assault and weapon possession.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t Greene who attracted the attention of police, who came to the couple’s apartment to find Gliedman on suspicion........

Hmmm. I used to have stuff like that, except for the explosives: The “Poor Man’s James Bond”; some guns, “High capacity magazines,” etc. Now that I’m married, most of that stuff is long gone.

Except for the explosives, I don’t see anything wrong. Were they wannabes or were they actually going to blow someone or something up?

Hmmm. “...quite senstive to shock and friction...” Should have little morons keep playing with their toy. With a little luck we’d have seen another example of Evolution in Action.

Hexamethylene triperoxide diamine (HMTD) is a high explosive organic compound, first synthesised in 1885 by Legler.[1] The theorised structure lent itself well to acting as an initiating, or primary explosive. While still quite sensitive to shock and friction, it was relatively stable compared to other initiating explosives of the time, such as mercury fulminate, and proved to be relatively inexpensive and easy to synthesise. As such, it was quickly taken up as a primary explosive in mining applications.[2] However, it has since been superseded by even more stable compounds such as tetryl.

The NYT did a real tap-dance trying to excuse their behavior as “not ‘terrorism’, just a couple of silly kids fooling around”, with the strong suggestion that they should not be punished but just turned over to their parents, who should discipline them without corporal punishment, of course, or even damaging their self-esteem with a stern talking-to.

Of course the reality is that their parents are hardcore leftists, and the kids are radical and violent, like Lori Berenson who went to Peru to assist a terrorist group there, only to get arrested; or Rachel Corrie, who went to aid radical Paleos, only to end up as “St. Pancake” under an Israeli bulldozer.

Both of which the NYT excused as well.

Their defense attorney is Lisa Pelosi. What a coincidence. Wonder if she's related to Occupy-Loving Nazi Nancy?

We had a couple of Canadian silver spoon anarchists as well. Byron Sonne and Kristen Peterson in Toronto during the 2010 G20. Sonne had a bomb making lab in his Forest Hill mansion but got his ass thrown in jail after his internet activities were monitored. Even though he was eventually aquitted, during his 2-year incarceration, his girlfriend’s super rich parents forced her to divorce him to save face. The loss of his golden goose was his true punishment. Now he’s reached his proper statin in life-a destitute Occupy loser giving interviews for leftist rags.

I’m sure you all probably recall the 1970 Greenwich Village townhouse explosion, triggered when (wealthy) Weathermen terrorists were building a bomb in the house owned by the father of Kathy Wilkerson, another (wealthy) Weathermen girl. They planned to bomb a servicemen’s dance at Fort Dix.

IIRC, Kathy Wilkerson’s father was quite a leftist, but I don’t think there’s any indication that the parents of the girl involved in this latest wealthy kid terrorist incident were leftists or Occupy supporters. Once is a prominent doctor and the other is a high-end realtor. It seems like the girl was addicted to drugs (the couple had recently been picked up with a quantity of heroin on them when someone found them busy injecting another girl with it in a parked car) and was completely under the control of the boyfriend, but nobody has revealed much about him. Another wealthy prep-school friend?

In any case, you know they’ll get off light. Heck, all of the people who survived the 1970s explosion (such as Kathy Boudin) went on to other violent things, and when they got caught at various points (even after having killed people) they got fairly modest sentences and are now all out and are faculty members at prestigious universities.

I couldn't find one, either. There is a slight resemblance, though.

Why are we surprised? The 60’s radicals like Bill Ayers are still out there and are the ones pulling the strings behind all this.

What caught my attention was the link to Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. No particular surprise in that.
