Sources: Enough Republicans Willing to Unseat Speaker Boehner

“At least 20 House Republican members have gotten together, discussed this and want to unseat Speaker Boehner--and are willing to do what it takes to do it,” Meyer said. “That’s more than enough to get the job done, but the one problem these guys face is they need a leader to coalesce behind.”

Meyer said the conservatives have considered House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) to take the helm after Boehner is knocked out. His opposition from the right to the Senate fiscal cliff deal that Vice President Joe Biden cut with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is a sign Cantor may try for the job.

AMA is hardly the only conservative entity aware of the rekindled effort afoot to unseat Boehner. Another conservative with inside knowledge of the effort told Breitbart News that the movement has "new focus and juice," and if enough members go to Boehner telling him they won’t support his re-election, that Americans should “watch for him to resign gracefully.”

The vote for Boehner’s re-election as Speaker happens on Thursday, two days after Boehner’s decision to support the Senate "fiscal cliff" deal Vice President Joe Biden cut with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on New Year’s Eve.

It’s easy for Democrats to be “brilliant” when you have the leftist news media creating the reality that we live in .For example the news media created this stupid “fiscal cliff” scare tactic out of thin air. but the media had practically all the public and the stupid congressmen talking about a cliff.

“I think Boehner is out.”

Unfortunately, I don’t think it matters. Unless someone is willing to step up and not sign off on a debt ceiling increase, it’s just the same old stuff.

Obama knows after the “cliff” he’s got republicans cowed and primed to give him a Tera-buck or two or three. Obama could probably go for $5T in spending authority and get it at this point.

The only thing that matters is spending, and it’s clear that’s not going down any time soon - no matter who is Speaker.

A bold option would be for all GOP Senators and Representatives to resign en masse stating that the country is in danger.

But they like their perks, so that’s not going to happen.

Tom Cotton...

Too new.

The Speaker has to be someone with significant Capitol Hill experience to know the ins and outs. Sadly, it requires a seasoned politician.

Speaker of the House doesn’t have to be a member. Not that this would happen, but it would be cool if an outsider was negotiating with Obama.

Pelosi is a vile, despicable excuse for a human being BUT, does anyone think she would have gotten outflanked like this if she were speaker.

If the Republican leadership had stayed together and whipped the GOP caucus, the bill would have been defeated. It passed because the GOP leadership wanted it to pass. It’s a simple as that. Don’t be fooled by the NO votes of Cantor and Issa. They voted NO simply because they already had lined up enough GOP members to vote yes and they wanted to give themselves political cover. Boehner is an idiot but at least he had the guts to vote for the deal he concocted behind closed doors with the rest of the GOP leaders.

Sorry, Eric. No johnny-come-latelies to the Speaker’s chair. You were leadership, you signed off on pulling conservatives from key committee assignments and finally rediscovering your roots is too little, too late.

Price, Gohmert or Bachmann for Speaker, please, in that order of preference. Let the conservatives decide and get it done. I would like to see a new Speaker with no trace of the current stench of Republican leadership on them.

Right...Just like the GOP has to nominate seasoned politicians to run for president. How's that been working out?

Newbies going to Washington get hit with Potomac fever soon after their arrival. Each time they get reelected, the fever gets worse. Eventually, they only see the world from Washington and they foreget why they ever went to Washington.

Few, if any, are immune. Just look at their voting records and the legislation they have sponsored or endorsed.

There is no cure for them. That leaves the only alternative for us to be voting them out, which seems to be nearly impossible. That is one problem the Founders failed to incorporate into The Constitution — mandatory term limits.

We don’t need a strong conservative figure at thehelm (though it would be nice).
WE JUST NEED A LEADER WHO CAN COUNT!

ONE WHO’LL THEREFORE INCLUDE THE CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY OF HIS CAUCUS IN DISCUSSIONS AND NEGOTIATIONS AND ENFORCE DISCIPLNE UPON THE RINO MINORITY TO SUPPORT THE PARTY.

After Boehner is removed for not doing that the next Speaker will see the light, whoever he is.

Really? Unless you live in his one district in Ohio, you and I have absolutely no say whether he stays or not.

Great photo! Who owns the legs...and who’s that looking at them?

I think the guy looking is Lindsay Graham. He seems to be thinking "Those shoes with that belt? Gack!"

LOL! Actually, I think he’s looking at Boehner. I meant the younger guy behind him (as somebody else said, probably just one of the few aides who won’t have incriminating gay pix posted on Facebook).

Boner soon to be out and Cantor seems to already be vying to become the Speaker. Cantor is so far up the DC insider's asses that when any of them pass gas Cantor gets bad breath, just like the Boner. I understand that, according to the Constitution, the Speaker of the House does not have to be a Congressional member. DC insiders be damned, Sarah Palin or Allen West ought to be recruited to serve as the Speaker. Shifting the deck chairs on a sinking ship will not prevent the ship from sinking but doing so sends the message that those in charge are trying.

Obama is real slick. One of the mistakes we made was to underestimate him.
