During my AF Academy years, we had a name for people like this: “flamer”. NOT a complimentary term. I knew my share both in and after the Academy as an active duty pilot.

In short, the guy’s an insecure asshole. He should never have gotten a star, let alone 3 of ‘em.

It’s all who you know, folks.....trust me.

In the old army they had a class called “cussing for commanders”.

“Lack of ability with colorful commentary” was a failing evaluation.

Thank you for your service. I fed you guys. I know what a 'low-residue' meal is. It's not happy making.

God bless the men that fly and fight.

Sure, I had a card that said I had attended ACESII training, and could put my head over the seat of an F-15 or F-16.

No way. That stuff is dangerous just sitting there with all the pins in.

Someone has to burn holes through empty sky. Better you than me.

I agree; flamers come across as the kind of leaders who simply can't deal well with bad news and the troops they will lead in combat are not filled with confidence.

The most meaningful ass chewings I ever received were delivered in cool, calm, even tones, and it's a style I always tried to emulate when verbal reprimands were in order.
