As an out-going member not being elected to the new Congress, for West to recieve any votes is a great honor. I hope it gets some mention in the press as a very rare occurance.

I like West but don't really know why there is any faith in him for Speaker when he can't even hang onto his seat?
Did he ever even sponsor any legislation?
