Pelosi: ‘Many Members of the Republican Caucus Don’t Believe in Government’ By Penny Starr January 3, 2013

(CNSNews.com) – In an interview on Thursday with National Public Radio, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that many Republicans do not “believe in government.”

"There are many members in the Republican caucus who do not believe in government,” Pelosi said in an interview with NPR’s Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep. “And bless their hearts, they act upon their beliefs.

“So day to day, we vote here on issues that eliminate government initiatives for clean air, clean water, food safety, public safety, public education, public transportation, public housing, public health, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security.

"They don't believe in a public role,” Pelosi said. “And if you don't believe in a public role, then why do you even have to have taxes to pay for it? ... They're anti-government ideologues, and that's what the speaker has to deal with."

Pelosi also had praise for the “Grand Old Party,” which she said has made “enormous contributions to the success of our country,” but that the party has changed to be one that wants to destroy government.

“While we may argue about the size of government, the Republican Party has not been a party that says, 'I want to destroy government,” Pelosi said.

She said Republicans should “take back your party.”

To quote prominent American philosopher W.C. Fields, “Everybody’s got to believe in something; I believe I’ll have another drink!”

"There are many members in the Republican caucus who do not believe in government,”

You mean those that, like President Regan, believe that " Government is not the answer, it is the problem?"

Coming from Nancy "we must pass the bill to see what's in it" Pelosi, bless her, that is a high compliment.

I hear this crap all the time: Because I want the federal government to get back to spending at its modern peacetime average of 17% of GDP instead of the current 25%, I’m JUST LIKE an anarchist who wants “no government” at all.

Pelosi LIVES her faith in government.

Every solution she’s ever offered is “government” - more of it, expanding it, railing against cutting it, putting more government into everyone else’s lives, more taxes to fund it, government welfare benefits are the democrat solution to stimulate the economy, etc.

If you can’t clue in on that, it’s hopeless.
