Damon’s co-writer was John Krasinski, a star of The Office sitcom.
Democrats have never let the truth stand in the way of a good story (see: Michael Moore) but when a politically ambitious lefty half-wit can’t even get a `reach-around’ from the AP for his vanity piece, well Matthew, then you know you’ve got a problem.

Was this film funded by Saudis, or by the Qataris that bought Algore’s so-called network?
Snip: But now a more sinister possibility has emerged. Promised Land is being financed by New Image Abu Dhabi a company fully owned by the government of the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE is a small Arab kingdom with a spotty record on freedom-of-speech issues and whose economy is completely dependent on selling oil and gas.
I always hate it when I find out some actor or singer whose work I enjoy, turns out to be just another typical brain dead performer.
I mean, I expect it, but it still nags.
“The China Syndrome”, a 1979 film about a nuclear plant disaster, had as two of its stars, Jane Fonda and Jack Lemmon, two notorious anti-nuke agitators. Coupled with the Three-Mile Island plant blow-up, this probably poisoned the American public against nuclear power production to the point of STOPPING all expansion of nuclear plants in the US for a generation.
“Promised Land” is an attempt to reiterate the rant against having too much capability for power generation available to US industry, and to power homes and farms.
True wealth comes from taking a plentiful natural resource, and extracting its value by turning it into a source of energy and as a raw material for the building of goods widely used in daily commerce, relatively inexpensively and with broad utility.
Some people just cannot stand prosperity, and especially so if somebody else gets a little more prosperous than they might be.
Matt Damon is a twit, no question, and a useful idiot for the propagandists to use in their drive to intimidate and oppress those who may show signs of ambition.
Oh come on...Matt Damon must be an expert!!! He’s a Hollywood actor. They know everything.
Join the club, fracking expert. Damon’s message in the movie is so heavy-handed and provably that reviewers at rottentomatoes.com are calling him out on it:
“an egregious plot twist late in the film only makes things worse, revealing the movie to be just as underhanded as the soulless corporations its taking to task.”

“Coupled with the Three-Mile Island plant blow-up...”
The film is what shut down the industry. And turned the TMI release (where all the systems worked as intended to prevent a major disaster) into a “blow-up” in the public’s, and History’s, mind.
The same could happen with this film.
Is it too late to make 2012 predictions? I predict that as soon as the “assault” weapons ban is passed, there will be news of a “major” incident regarding fracking, and D.C. will jump on it as the next “crisis”.
BTW - I recall some article years ago talking about “over 498 spills at oil facilities on the North Slope of Alaska”. Reading other papers on the “spills” indicated that ANY and ALL spills were reported.
Later on I was on a project on some government land in the Lower 48 and a tablespoon of hydraulic fluid was spilled changing a hose. That was reported by the Govt. oversight guy, they were shut down for the rest of that day and the next so they could get “re-educated” on their “spill” response”. I am sure that made it into some bureaucratic tally of “spills” for that year.
“What else could an Irishman ask for?
A bit of truth would be a start.
The boy is an idiot.
Matt Damon is a fracking liar.
