Boehner starts second speaker term vowing end to one-on-one meetings with Obama

John Boehner's first order of business in his second term as speaker is no more one-on-one meetings with President Obama.

An aide to the speaker, who won re-election to the leadership post Thursday afternoon, confirmed to Fox News that Boehner is done with closed-door talks with the president.

Boehner and Obama over the past two years have made two unsuccessful attempts at striking a "grand bargain" deficit-reduction deal. The last set of talks, in the context of crafting a bill to avert the fiscal crisis, ended with Boehner exiting the negotiations and pushing a failed "Plan B" and then being forced to bring a Senate-passed bill to the floor. Though the bill passed the House, Republicans largely opposed it.

Going forward, Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said, "he is recommitting himself and the House to what we've done, which is working through regular order and letting the House work its will."

The confirmation of the new approach came as Boehner was chosen again as speaker despite misgivings by some conservatives about his handling of the fiscal crisis negotiations.

Boehner, whose election marked the start of the 113th Congress, now will lead a chamber that looks a lot like it did two years ago, with Republicans holding a comfortable majority -- but with divisions showing within the GOP caucus.

I seem to remember us all learning this lesion about Obama 4 years ago in the healthcare debate, and John is just relearning it now?

Apparently he is not only a RINO he’s an idiot.

No Boehner, Obama never deals fairly one on one behind closed doors. He Doesn’t even deal honestly in groups on camera as we witnessed in his healthcare forum.
If you go behind doors with Obama your only ever going to get fucked Obama gets to blame you for all the problems as his slaves in the press corp gobble every little lie he says.

At least when you have him on camera you can point to those that will listen to show them what really happen.

“He’s not enough of a man to stand up to the POTUS face to face??? Wow. Just wow. Yeah, this is our leader. Unreal.”

As you may or may not recall from 4 years ago and Obama’s healthcare “discussion” even when Obama is on Camera and in groups he does not deal honestly.

You can only image what Obama is like “off the record”.

What gets me is how is it that John Boehner could only now be learning this? It was obvious to even me after the first few months.

I respect Boehner just slightly less than Obama does.

I’m starting to believe Democrats are smarter than Republicans. Reps are outmaneuvered and outsmarted at every turn.

He better hurry over to the white house and retrieve his balls from obamas back pocket. I thought the conservatives had enough votes to remove this loser. It looks like preserving the boys club was more important then saving the party.

Both Mr Obama and Mr Boner have lost all credibility.

Imagine walking through life and having nobody believe you. I would rather be a nobody with honor.

They are not! Republican-e and Dumbocraps are essentially the same thing: big spending, big government, new world order, shamnesty, and on and on.

Dems and Reps are just playing good-cop-bad-cop to steal our votes and our country from us.

Boehner & McConnell’s plan is simple: If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

Trillion dollar deficits are the new normal. Everybody in the beltway wants their fingers in that pie. Laurel & Hardy handed out the party favors and the beltway GOP rank & file jumped at the offer.

Get ready for a lot more of this BS. It is only going to get worse.

It's a little to late for that, Boehner.

I’m starting to believe Democrats are smarter than Republicans.

When it comes to politics, they are. Politics is the study of power, and it is the one thing Democrats crave. Republicans on the other hand do not crave power, but instead believe that participating in government is a vaunted public service. Case in point, you did not see a single Republican wanting to be Speaker today. But let Pelosi croak, and you will see a fist fight break out on the House floor between Clyburn and Hoyer over who gets the gavel.

The beltway GOP look whipped to me. No stomach to take on the MSM and the kenyan. They could have cut out some of the outrageous spending in the cliff bill and tossed it back at Dirty Hairy with a loud FU. Nope.

They could have hit the kenyan RE jobs numbers or anything else with him splish splashing on a beach in Hawaii. Nope. No fight. Imagine what Pelosi/Reid would have done to Bush if he had pulled such a stunt in this economy.

No fight in the GOP. If not now, when? “Fiscal cliff” was their Waterloo. They are done.

All the beltway GOP crowd seeks now is personal power and wealth. They have totally surrendered to the marxists.
