Innis is very ligit (and I have followed his and his dad's org for years), as is Kevin Jackson.
I have met both of them.
Jackson has been along on some of the TPX tours and is an outstanding guy.
One of their people on the about website used to be with the TPX, but no longer is.
I don't know when that page was updated last.
They also have an employee that used to be with the TPX also, and spent most of her time there undermining those that she did not like. Including the top guy.
She is dangerous to any Tea Party group, and managed to waste a lot of donated money on herself---before she was ousted.
This group can do some good things, but I still part ways with them on how they use their money.
TheTeaParty.net only currently uses approximately 30% of contributions received on items that would be considered administrative. That includes staff compensation, office space, office supplies, etc. Approximately 70% of the donations are used to recruit thousands of people to the Tea Party movement...etc
The money used to recruit should be in administrative, which would bring down tremendously the amount spent on regular Tea Party stuff.
Still a skeptic...: > )
But I do hope that what with having some good people involved that they can be effective.
(Innis and Jackson need to watch the leadership closely.) As well as the low level narcissists parading as legit but out for themselves.
Like the Tea Party Patriots, what they have done best is having a data base of tea parties that started under their auspices.
Many of the TPP teapartys that formed have nothing to do with TTP anymore, for good reason.
I received a call just the other night from Tea Party Patriots.
The guy’s talking points were about how crucial this moment is to send money for the events and actions that will take place. I asked what was being planned currently and explained that we can’t afford a donation just now. He completely side stepped my questions and statement along with an offer of my non-monetary help. Just stating that any donation large or small would be helpful. I wished him a good night.
I see this a LOT with local RNC chapters, especially in my town. You get these older lady socialites who want to run everything and make it their own little social club. They usually have been with the chapter for years if not decades and everything goes to their own parties and events to be seen in whatever local society magazine they have. They end up in Tea Party groups because that is where the action is. I wonder if the Dems have this problem?
