Top video at link, watch Rick go off.
He is right, but these discussions annoy me. Everyone shouts over the other person. They all get worked up and then they become quite inarticulate. Our side as well as their side. Stuttering, stammering, outraged pundits who want to persuade people but who lose the ability to really make a cogent point.
What I wouldn’t give for a slow-moving thoughtful show in which people made simple statements (15 seconds max) and then had people respond: “Your use of the term ‘unemployment rate’ needs to be explored. Are you referring to U6? Because I think the U6 number is scary, but you seem to feel that unemployment is looking good. Can we discuss that? Are you just looking at U3? Because that glosses over the problem, in my opinion.”
But no. Everyone wants to “win” the argument. Everyone wants to beat their opponent into submission. No one wants to educate or explain or persuade. That’s too hard.
I think Joe is basically correct about the the $16T deficit that Obama has racked up, but I think he shouted too much, explained too little, and came off as a wild-eyed Republican. He probably should have tried to come off differently.
I called him “Joe”. Sorry. It’s Rick Santelli.
Rick, Rick, Rick. You are such an anachronism. Get with Modern Monetary Theory. And stop talking over the experts, you Tea Party Animal (just kidding).
I’m waiting for Santelli and others to just come out and speak the truth...
Comrade B.Hussein is a radical communist/marxist focused on the destruction of the economy, the Constitution and America and creating a new marxist state ala Venezuela...but more tyrannical.
Cloward-Piven
Overload it.
Crash it.
Rebuild it.
No sh t Sherlock...if it were...we'd all be broke.
I have a very serious problem with pundits who are familiar with Cloward-Piven (and I bet they all are familiar with the idea) and who actually think it is being pushed (and I bet some of the pundits believe that) and yet say nothing about it.
If you love your country, you should try to get the word out. These people are holding a megaphone and they don’t mention Cloward-Piven. The system is being crashed, and they want to keep it their little secret.
Lawrence O’Donnell? Sure. I don’t expect him to spill the beams. Rick Santelli? I think he should come right out and say it.
At least there’s someone with a microphone who refuses the bullsh*t premise of the empty media suits. Why can’t GOP leaders do the same?
I love Rick’s Rants because they are the closest thing to truth in this day and age...
It was one of his rants that started the tea party movement.
Yeah. I give him a lot of credit for that. He’s closer to being a real truth teller than most of them. But he does rant, and I think that ranting is not the best way to help the country have mature political discussions.
But, clearly, there are many other pundits who are far more useless than Santelli.
I think CNBC likes his rants only because it helps their ratings. Rick had said he was sent to “re-education” after the tea party rant, but then he became popular.
I recognize the reality of that. And I know I have to take what I can get. But I also recognize that the News Biz is not about news. It’s just the Entertainment Biz. “Santelli’s rants are popular? OK. We will allow him to carry on — it sells soap. Informing the public? HA! Believe me, this is very far down on the list of things we are trying to achieve.”
I caught the tail end of Hannity last night and was quickly reminded why I don’t watch his show. There they were, 2 guests yapping over one another. It occurred to me that the libs are coached to NEVER let the other guests talk without shouting over them. It is that overt, to me.
Not to say the conservatives don’t do the same, I simply don’t see it at the same frequency. I’m inclined to believe Rick just blows up since the entire situation IS a freakin joke at this point. Nobody is saying anything that is remotely close to thoughtful and/or helpful solutions. If I were in that position, I’d be hard pressed to keep myself for screaming too!
I love Rick Santelli. I hope he doesn’t have a stroke. He tells the unvarnished truth.
