The only thing that happened under Nixon was the consolidation of a number of ALREADY EXISTING AGENCIES into something that was thought to be more manageable. At the time they had a number of rogue operations and there was no one head office people could appeal to so you'd have to go to court on everything.

Unfortunately, that was back in the day when they thought regulatory agencies were THE WAY TO GO. Turned out all regulatory agencies turn into dictatorial fiefdoms that uniformly have the intention of punishing people.

This outcome,...victory...could catapult a politician onto the National Stage.

IMO, Cuccinelli is the best of the McDonnell team. He's done good work for Virginia.

Actually we are a nation of intimidated subjects governed by lawless men that infest the the District of Corruption.

That principle had been tested at the time of the War of 1812. It didn’t work then and it didn’t work in 1860. Won’t work now either.

“EPA’s thinking here was that if Congress didn’t explicitly prohibit the agency from doing something, that meant it could, in fact, do it,” said Cuccinelli in his statement. …

It wasn't Congress that did that; it was the Constitution, specifically, the preamble to the Bill of Rights.
