Drumbo's Recipe Break

Dissolve 6 cups of sugar in 1 quart of boiling water, set aside to cool. Dissolve 1 ounce of instant coffee in 1 quart of boiling water, set aside to cool. When mixtures cool, pour into a 1 gallon jar and add 2 ounces of pure vanilla and 1 quart of 190 proof grain alcohol (or 151 proof if like me you live in West By God Virginia, because that's all we can get by law). Stir and set aside for 5 minutes. You just made 5 fifths of homemade Kahlua® Coffee Liquor and saved some major bux.

While a mudslide is by far the most popular mixed drink made with Kahlua (1 oz vodka, 1 oz Kahlua, 1 oz Bailey's® Irish cream & 1 oz heavy cream - or 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream in some places), my favorite tasty Kahlua beverage is called Drumbo's Tootsie Roll Pop, made with approximately 5 parts orange juice to 1 part Kahlua. It tastes like what it's named for.

Kahlua

Way cool & saving this recipe Drumbo!

I'm planning on making my first batch of limoncello this year since I have all these lemons.

Wish me luck & I'll let you know how it comes out.

I've had it before but it was wayyyyyyyyyy to sweet for my taste so I plan to tone that down.

I made vanilla extract this year & it's actually more cost effective & so easy I had no idea!

Thanks so much for sharing this & please share all your ideas!!! *Hugs*
