Law enforcement officials from a New York region where a local paper published a map identifying gun owners say prisoners are using the information to intimidate guards.
Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who spoke at a news conference flanked by other county officials, said the Journal News' decision to post an online map of names and addresses of handgun owners Dec. 23 has put law enforcement officers in danger.
"They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live. That's not acceptable to me," Falco said, according to Newsday.

So how can the newspaper get this information and the thugs can’t just get it themselves?
A dead inmate is no threat
So they would be listed in the permit files as any other citizen.
No kidding. My girlfriend is upset a she is on e list too.
This paper is going to be on the wrong side of a class-action lawsuit. I am certain that the penalty will be heavy and be based upon the words ‘malicious intent’.

Every since that newspaper printed those names and addresses and everyone is condemning the NRA, I have started wearing my NRA hat, and I can’t stand to wear a hat.
I wear my glock hat everywhere.
Above and beyond the obvious, this seems like a golden opportunity for the Sheriff to stick it to many of the inmates who make such threats.
That is, more and more police are being equipped with pinhole cameras and audio recording that is very difficult to detect, even if you know what to look for.
Imagine if when one of these scum come up for sentencing or parole, the judge or parole board got to see a time stamped video with audio of them threatening a jailer and his family? And this is not some grainy surveillance video you see in a convenience stores, but is clear enough to eliminate any doubt about who is saying what.
Even just doing this for a week or two, a prosecutor might decide to file a whole bunch of charges against a lot of inmates.
And once word got back to the inmates that their bad behavior was being recorded and used against them, all but the looniest would shut up a lot.
The leftist agenda is fueled by hate and totally bereft of any thought of consequences. Furtherance of their cause outweighs any concern for innocent blood.
Being put on that list probably reduces your property value if you are law enforcement.
Since they have published the list what are their responsibilities of validating the list and keeping the information current? Say an address erroneously on the list is robbed by someone looking for a gun is the paper responsible?. If a gun owner moves is that address pulled off the list?
Remember with "Wayback" the Internet is forever.
Don’t forget potential loss of property value because who would buy a house on the list?
The psychotic left and communists are itching for a fight and quite frankly they are forcing many people to consider options never thought of before.

Where are the leftist Domestic Violence advocates on this issue with at-risk-women who obtained weapons to protect themselves... whose stalkers now know where to find them?
Nowhere. They don’t really care about women. They only care about their cushy $100K+/yr taxpayer salaries that fund their leftist army of anti-family/anti-America rad-fems.
Nonetheless, this puts leftists in a corner, defending one leftist agenda against another, which will all inevitably run afoul of each other, as none of their agendas are built on logic or history and are only built on intolerance, emotion, envy, greed, division, lunacy and destruction.
