Americans around the nation were shocked Friday as they heard about H.J.Res. 15. H.J.Res 15 proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the Twenty-second Amendment. This would remove the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President. Rep. José Serrano (D- NY15) introduced the controversial joint resolution on Friday, the second day of the 2013 legislative session.

Why worry about some silly constitutional amendment? Obama doesn’t let simple details like constitutions get in his way. It’s a “living document”, anyhow.

It still takes 2/3 of Congress (both houses) to put it forth and to the states. And then it takes 3/4 of the states to approve it. That’s why you don’t see a whole lot of Constitutional Amendments in over the last two hundred years - the founding fathers set a high bar for passage.

can make it retroactive as well. Of course Obama could just
dictate it with an E.O. Who would stop him. He did support
an overturn of presidential term limits in Honduras. I

Stallin, etc. with the same values on human life.

This has zero chance of passage. It will require two-thirds of both houses, and then it must be passed in 38 state legislators. Take a look at an election map and see if you can come up with 38 blue states.

We should repeal the 17th amendment to take power away from the political parties and back to the states where it belongs.

Need to offer a counter resolution reducing it to one term with the possibility of 2 extra years if 75% of the country wants it.

Sounds good, but how many of those formerly known as illegals are now considered to be citizens? Anyone who has ever had another citizenship should not be allowed to hold office - there are many who fit that description and are far more loyal to America than most politicians today, but there can be no split loyalties. Anyone who knock the country (not to be confused with knocking the idiots in government - they ain't the country) should be disallowed too - that would have solved the problems of a Kerry/Clinto/countless others. We should also have the "Joe McCarthy" test - any socialist/communist/marxist leanings and you're out.

We could probably have fun with this - when I get to the point where I'm not eligible either, then all bases have probably been covered...
