The Jersey City Police Department collected over a hundred and twenty guns during a gun buy-back program held earlier today at a Mcginley Square church, according to police spokesman Stan Eason.
As part of Operation Life Safer 2, the four-and-a-half hour event began at 12 p.m. at the Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church at 661 Montgomery St. where gun owners handed in their weapons in exchange for cash with no questions asked.
Since 2005, the city held two prior gun buy-back programs in an effort to reduce gun violence and managed to collected 1,297 rifles, handguns, and assault weapons, according to a press release.
The guns will be held in police custody for a brief time before they are melted, Eason said.

Now, connect a potential NY buyback program to the recently published gun ownership map. The government would be offering money for stolen guns - no questions asked.

That’s a very good point. The legal criminals (government gun grabbers) are basically deputizing the illegal criminals to steal guns from law abiding gun owners. The problem is publishing gun ownership in the first place. A voluntary buy back could be a problem if the buy back price is too high, which would give criminals a relatively easy way to cash in on their crimes, no questions asked. That being said, I would think that those selling back their guns are being photographed via video surveillance and cross referenced and added to their databases. A crime syndicate could get around this by using patsies or making some deal with Holder’s DOJ a la F & F.
But, with all the talk of gun control, the price of ammo, mags, and semi-autos have skyrocketed. Right now, guns and ammo are prized possessions, just like bootlegged whiskey in the 20s.
Yep. The great Jedi Mind Trick is the one that has the majority of Americans, who think liberals and liberalism stinks, convinced they're the minority and that vote fraud hasn't long been serious and pervasive enough steal election victories for a minority that the MSM and pop culture has made to appear like a majority.
The ONLY way we're going to regain our freedom, reduce statism and government tyranny, and restore limited government, is when we UNDERSTAND and REALIZE that most Americans are good, productive, moral people who hold liberalism in as much contempt as "conservatives" do. The MSM and pop culture are the ONLY places where liberals outnumber right-minded folks, and because of it, the MSM and pop culture make it look like right-minded folks are surrounded by liberals, when THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE.
Liberals believe it, too, and they are going to be in for a very rude surprise when they find out that most of their "support" is pretend, and that most Americans think liberalism stinks -- and they DO, the MSM and pop culture "portrait of America" to the contrary. Just read the comments of consumers on MSM sites like ABC, CBS, and yahoo to get a clue what America really thinks of liberalism, gun control, and Obama. Just because the MSM and pop culture ignores it, doesn't mean it isn't very, very real.
Liberals believe their own press releases, but they're going to be very rudely surprised when they discover that MOST Amercans think liberalism and gun control stink, and that the MSM and pop culture (which actually represents a small slice of real America) have been giving liberals a false picture, providing zero idea of how much they are outnumbered.
We are the majority, and those who think America is made up of "children who voted for Santa Claus" are gullible defeatists who are unwittingly aiding liberalism.
