Unquestionably, it is uplifting to read a piece like this. I CHALLENGE YOU TO DO MORE THAN READ. Using this editorial as a checklist, make a list of concrete actions you will take in the next day, the next week, the next month. Write them down, and then perform the actions. Intentions are nothing. Deeds matter.

I do my best to live honorably and install that ethos in my three sons.
It is disheartening to see so many others, some in my own extended family, give in to their realization that, in the current social climate, playing by the rules is for suckers.

Making it reality is not for the faint of heart, I fear, as we sink slowly into the ooze of socialism. But, making it a reality should not be taken as a futile endeavor.
