I think there are good policy related reasons to oppose Hagel's nomination, though perhaps BHO should be allowed cabinet members aligned with his views. Referring to the Jewish lobby rather than the Israel lobby can easily be an innocent mistake. Closing the Haifa USO, well likely just saving money. Will be interesting to see if further relevations regarding Jews and gays are forthcoming.

When you have this sort of unanimity in the man's home community, not to mention the incredible rudeness he showed to many constituents (regardless of their affiliation), it's a bad, bad sign.
Not just bad for Israel or for American Jews, but bad for anybody who disagrees with him. His tactics and behavior are reprehensible, no matter where they are directed.
We don't need this kind of man in any high office.
