Redskins name change should be discussed, Vincent Gray says
Washington Post. ^ | 01/09/2013 | Mike Debonis

The Redskins’ resurgence has District politicos once again talking about what it would take to relocate the team back inside the city limits. But Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D) today suggested there would have to be a controversial prerequisite to any stadium deal: a name change, or at least discussion of one.

No, it shouldn’t be changed. Your name should, a-hole. FUVG.

Why now, if not in the PC decade of the 90s?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the name "Redskins." I do not think that the DC government did any favors when they changed the name of their basketball team from the "Bullets" to the "Wizards." Why does the DC government want to honor the Ku Klux Klan with the name "Wizards." Beats me!

It makes us wonder what moronic names these people want to name the Redskins? Keep that popcorn coming!

Whether or not they change the team’s nickname, the playoff game of last week should forever be known as The Battle of Wounded Knee.

The NCAA made most of their member institutions change their nicknames away from Native American names. Well, the mid-size schools that didn’t have the cash to bribe their way out of the rule. It didn’t matter that the vast majority of “official spokesmen” for the Native Americans wanted the names kept as they honored, rather than denigrated, the native tribes.

As you can see, this one rule change, at one fell swoop, ended the widespread academic cheating, “hundred dollar handshakes,” bogus off-season jobs, favoritism to family members, and erased police blotters that had plagued collegiate athletics. It’s all better now.

On the other hand, I can see where “Redskins” doesn’t exactly honor the memory of Native American tribes. But the main point is that Native Americans are not the predominant ethnic group in the DC area now. Perhaps some other name might be in order.

'Perhaps some other name might be in order.'

Of course, I suggest the Washington Bloodsuckers or perhaps the Washington Parasites, the possibilities are endless.

How about PORKSKINS? or INJUNS? or INDIAN BRAVES? Surely, that’s okay. - All this infernal APOLOGIZING is making me weary; and name changing every time the fashion follies of the decade change. What ever they change it to, it’ll set someone’s nose on crooked sooner or later. - Oh, how about the KISS MY GRITS? or maybe the UNICORN FARTS? or the LIGHTNINGS & THUNDERS? (too violent?) SIGH.

I will always call them ‘The Redskins’ just like I call the basketball team ‘The Bullets’.

In fact, "gray" is a racial slur that is applied to whites who try to "act black," kind of an inverse "Oreo cookie." And "Vincent" is from the Latin, vincere, which means "to conquer."

Therefore, "Vincent Gray" is a racial slur that advocates conquering white people. I find that very offensive. Whom can I sioux. I mean sue.
