And of course, when high cap mags are banned, no one will go out in their shop and make one. Better ban my band saw, TIG Welder, springs and sheet metal.

First of all.....Let's straighten out the idea that the Bushmaster .223 operates like a machine gun and I'm one of those who thought so until I did some homework.

It is a one pull, one bullet gun....just like ye old cowboy six-shooter. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

And please remember, these killers WANT TO KILL......It has little to do with the weapon. The backwards arabs are still using rocks.

One of the shooters at Columbine used 10 round magazines... he just made sure to carry 10 of them.

And its not like everybody doesn’t already have one or twenty of them. Anything done to try to control tactical black rifles and standard (high) capacity magazines is like closing the door after the horse has left.

SlideFire SSAR15 Stock. 900 rounds per minute. Perfectly legal and you can get ghetto full auto from an AR platform. Local gun range had one on an AR with a 100 round drum magazine. They were running around $150 but price has gone thru the roof lately.

You just have to hold it correctly to get the full auto effect.

Of all the government established gun free zones, public schools are the only ones that don't have security personnel. The way the law was written, even off duty LEOs can't bring their weapons to a school.

Another point on gun control. With a few mentally ill people committing murder against innocent strangers, their response is to restrict the legal activities of all U.S. citizens. This doesn't even address the loss of self protection with a gun ban.

We have drug cartels, using illegal alien labor, taking over a large portion of the interstate illegal drug trade. We could make that more difficult by just enforcing the existing illegal immigration laws, but the Administration won't allow it.

Sacajaweau,
“Correct me if I’m wrong” You are wrong. The original six shooter was a single action gun which required the operator to pull back the hammer with his thumb before a shot could be fired with his trigger finger. A semi-automatic (self loading) gun is functionally similar to a modern DAO (double action only) revolver which also fires one shot for each trigger pull. A revolver stores its ammo in a spinning cylinder and a semi-auto typically stores its ammo in a magazine.

It’s no wonder that many people are confused since the mainstream media just cannot seem take 5 minutes on Wikipedia to try understand the difference between full auto machine guns and legal semi-auto guns. If I hear one more talking head imply that machine guns can be easily purchased online with no background check I think my brain will explode.

Unless you have a supply truck full of ammo following you around, full auto is useless anyway. Or you are Rambo in a firefight and have the typical liberal audience that can’t count. I just shake my head at movie and TV shows that feature bottomless mags.

When I’m at the range & doing careful practice, my 30 round mag empties pretty darn quickly. Each time I pop one out I think, well, there goes another $15 or $20. Painful.

Which is why I spend most of my practice time with my 22. I have 10 round mags for my Marlin 795. I fill 4 at a time and do very careful target practice. 250 rounds are gone in no time.

We need some kind of government EBT card for ammo. Better use of the tax payer’s money.

The LE community is complaining that they can’t find ammo. Between patriots and Homeland In-Security all the ammo is gone.
