Can’t we aim higher than ‘Honey Boo Boo’? (By failed Spitzer co-host Kathleen Parker)
Washington Post ^ | 1/9/13 | Kathleen Parker

Posted on 01/10/2013 2:39:57 PM PST by jimbo123

No one forced me, but I finally decided it was time to discover what all the business was about Honey Boo Boo.

Even though I’ve made reference to the show featuring a former beauty tot, now 7, and her family, I’d never actually watched a full episode. I still haven’t, but I watched enough to need a jaw adjustment.

Earth to Kathleen Parker: Honey Boo Boo is more palatable then you and the Whoremonger with whom you partnered.

Translation for Blondes: Honey Boo Boo is shooting higher than Parker-Spritzer.

This is Jerry Spinger nation.

Not only can we not aim higher, we should consider ourselves fortunate to even have her.

"Even though I’ve made reference to the show...I’d never actually watched a full episode."

This sums up the media in one sentence.

I don't watch it, but I did read an article about the mother putting ALL the money away in trusts for her 5 kids and how their biggest splurge was a 2005 Expedition.

Anyone partnering with that creep Spitzer shouldn’t be complaining about ANYTHING in the media; it doesn’t get much lower than that.

Funny how Ms. Parker wasn’t shocked by her co-host’s exploits with prostitutes and his proclivities for deviant acts while serving as attorney general. Typical selective outrage from the left.

The problem is that I watched Honey Boo Boo for the first time last week. I am sorry, but this Honey Boo Boo is no Shirley Temple.

Somehow... Honey Boo Boo throwing out rolls of toilet paper is not the same as Shirley Temple's tap dancing. How far our culture has traveled. /sarc

Can’t we aim higher...

Ah, another gun nut, huh? If someone dies, it's because of her threatening to shoot at targets.

Though Duck Dynasty is BY FAR the best “reality tv”, I sometimes tune in to Honey Boo-Boo.

So, that family isn’t like the rest of us. And the fact that they celebrated the illegit baby born with a flipper or something...ok, that’s wrong, but at least the daughter chose life over killing her baby.

They aren’t WT, as the Dad works for a living. Lots of family love and fun. And smart money management. I don’t have a problem with HBB - tune in to Kartrashians (a brothel disguised as a family) sometime. BIG difference.

Just my 2cents...

Sorry, Kathleen, no sale. When a smart, beautiful, virtuous woman was running for Vice President of our country, you were part of the crowd screaming for blood, because, darn it! how could someone not as good as you be getting so much attention?

Now you can direct your envy at Honey Boo Boo ... how can someone not as good as you be getting so much attention and money!?

It must be because only a few people in this dreadful, lower-class country are as Special as you and Elliot Spitzer.

I don’t know what is a Honey Boo Boo since we terminated our cable TV.

Saving $900 a year, $9000 in just 10 years.
And... NO MIND ROT.
and best of all, by far.....
No Obama Speeches, nor any Ministry of Truth “news casts”

Not THE Kathleen Parker!?

Photobucket

Gormless irony of the month award to 0dumb0 shill Kathleen Parker, who herself weighs in from perhaps the most putrid redoubt of cultural decay in America: The Washington Post "writers" group.

I've never seen ten seconds of Honey Boo Boo, but if KP hates it, it can't be all bad.

I was in second grade the year Kennedy was assassinated, just to give you an idea of my age. Even when I was young I could not understand all the talk in that era of Camelot and America’s royalty. We were different from those countries...”All men are created equal”...right? The more I see of the presence of these reality shows, the more I’m wondering whether or not it is propaganda to try to convince people that their lives do need to be governed by an elite class, because there are some out there that are just not to be trusted to control their own lives. There is an awful lot of arrogance on the left.

Much as I dislike Kathleen Parker, believe me-—it’s all bad.

I watched an episode out of curiosity, and my stomach literally turned. The family in the show enjoys flaunting bodily functions for the camera. The mother’s elbows are caked with dirt. They went to some kind of local “fair” where they bobbed for raw pigs’ feet with their mouths. And the kid who bears the title of Honey Boo-Boo is the most annoying kid I think I have ever seen.

Honey Boo-Boo and her family are tasteless vulgarians and are beyond annoying - but they are playing for the camera, and no one on the show has yet accessed a call girl.

The mother recently disclosed that she’s had all the money that they have earned from the show put into trust funds for the four daughters and the new granddaughter. The girls can’t touch it until they are 21. If this is true, she’s gone up a notch in my eyes. At least the children will eventually benefit from her exploitation of them.

Now who knows what Sugar Bear is getting from all this...

There is an awful lot of arrogance on the left.

And that's the truth.

Lower-class entertainments have always been part of life. I don't think either "Honey Boo Boo" or the Kardashians are the end of the world. Snobby aristo-wannabes with a control complex are much more dangerous.

I haven't seen Honey Boo Boo, only read about it, but I got a kick out of an episode of "Bridezillas" that I saw at my parents' house, and I watched all the episodes of "My Fair Wedding" that were available on Netflix streaming.

I think it's funny how threads about how awful reality shows are draw dozens of posts saying, "Yeah, awful ... except this one and that one that I watch ... those are okay because (fill in reasons)."

Note to Parker...

Should you be using phrases like "aim higher" when Obama is trying to take everyone's guns away?
