Not to get all green and gooey but I hope they can get the energy with minimal impact on a unique landscape. I’m also glad to see the locals get a shot at some good jobs.

Not to get all green and gooey but I hope they can get the energy with minimal impact on a unique landscape.

There has been drilling in this area for more than fifty years without any appreciable damage to the landscape.

Like yesterday's drilling, shale oil & gas drilling will leave a drill pad -- and they'll be somewhat larger than previous pads, but far fewer of them. Multiple horizontal wells will be drilled from this single pad.

And there will be a new system of buried collection pipelines.

The San Juan Basin will look pretty much like it always has.
