This is written to mean that the military shall not follow a tyrannical governments orders.
Do you think our modern military will read this in the manner in which it was written or will they follow A tyrannical governments orders?

no, the military has not been dumbed down ~ maybe the JCS, and the Commander in chief and his running dog lackeys, but the troops know what the oath means ~ in fact, they always knew.
I just went through a periodical security investigation for my clearance - the special agent was told this and I explained what I meant by doing exactly what the Founding Fathers wanted each officer to do in times like these...the agents response was, “You and every other officer I have talked to has said the same thing!”
Don’t think the military leadership will allow the US to fall! Most Company and Field Grades don’t think like generals - and that’s a good thing!!! Nor do they care about getting stars on their shoulders...just saying...
