*excerpt*

''I want those who have concealed carry permits to be able to legally carry their firearms on school grounds in an effort to deter any future school shootings,'' Shaw said.

-----

''Taking the sheep dog out of the pasture doesn't make our lambs any safer from the wolf,'' he said.

-----

''What never gets reported is the number of shootings that would have become mass shootings had they not been stopped by an armed citizen,'' Shaw said.

Hmmm ... Shaw got sick being in a band with with Dennis DeYoung, playing 'Come Sail Away' and 'Mr. Roboto' at state fairs, so he decided to become an Iowa state rep? ... :^)

Seriously, though ... he's absolutely right about abolishing so-called 'gun-free zones'.

As an aside, what is it about Iowa that they continue to send that commie p.o.s. Tom Harkin back to the Senate every 6 years?

Well, why don’t you shut up? You took a crack at Commie Tommie once and how did that work out? You talk big.

Tom Harkin has defeated the Republican Party of Iowa ten straight times since 1974, five times for the House and five times for the Senate, if my memory is correct.

So, what’s your plan to end the streak?

Not very well. I was young and naive, and still believed that Republicans would actually support republicanism.

You live and learn.

I don't have the slightest idea. Commie Tommie should be vulnerable as he never wins by huge margins and if we can find the right person, he should be vulnerable again.

Jeff Patch is making excellent reports on the corrupt activities of Harkin on theiowarepublican.com.

The truth is it's difficult to dislodge an incumbent and the eastern end of the state is more liberal than the western end.

I do not want Steve King to risk his seat and power to take on Harkin.

Back to the issue of SK. It may not be a bad idea for him to take a run at Commie Tommie--nothing ventured, nothing gained and if SK gets beat, so what? The world won't come to an end. The Fourth District should be OK, however very few have the communication skills of SK.

SK has good political instincts and I trust his judgement. So far, he's never had to use negative campaigning to win but this time, it would be different. Commie Tommie is not only a commie lover, he's corrupt and that would need to be exposed over and over and over.

HOwever, I do not call exposing the truth being negative.

The Dems, it seems to me, ran Vilsack against him last year for the purpose of keeping him suppressed. I don’t think they believed they could defeat him, necessarily. They just wanted to keep his numbers low so that a state-wide race would not look viable.

Steve has always been a very, very cautious guy. Frankly, I will be surprised if he runs against Harkin.

But, who knows, he could surprise everyone. He’s a very capable individual.
