I guess I don't understand this one at all. Unless the woman was killed on federal property there would be no death penalty anyway. Not true.
Commission of certain classes of crimes subjects them to Federal jurisdiction whether they occur on Federal property or not.
When a murder occurs during the commission of drug related crime, the Federal death penalty applies and Michigan's long standing absence of capital punishment is irrelevant.
