State Suspends Handgun Carry Permit Of Tactical Response CEO

The state of Tennessee has suspended the handgun carry permit of James Yeager, CEO of Tactical Response, who recently said he would "start killing people" should President Obama take executive action on gun control.

State officials explained they revoked the permit because of Yeager's "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public," according to a local TV station. Tactical Response is a Tennessee-based company that specializes in firearms and tactical training.

"The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public's safety," wrote Commissioner Bill Gibbons. "Mr. Yeager's comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention. Due to our concern, as well as that of law enforcement, his handgun permit was suspended immediately. We have notified Mr. Yeager about the suspension today via e-mail. He will receive an official notification of his suspension through the mail."

If any of his “Tactical Response” students are ever involved in a questionable shooting, I can make a wild guess at what video the grand jury is going to see...

And nobody sees, nor brings up, how an Inalienable Right is so easily taken away. Was there a trial? A sentence? Sure seems a travesty of justice for ANYONE.

Yet another example of why Constitutional carry should be the standard; what other Rights are taxed and licensed as much??

He’s an agent provocateur and this “getting burned by the state” is ALSO a part of the whole act.

This is to shore up his “realllly baaaad anti-gummint” chops.

“Golly, he’s really legit..!”

“Shall Issue” unless you are a menace to the public, and making overt physical threats makes you a menace. They may have skipped some steps in revoking it without due process based on state law. If so, he can fight it and maybe get it back. I don’t know.

Even he knew he had crossed the line and took the video down quickly, but the internet is forever and others reposted it. Damage done.

I know we get pretty heated sometimes here on FR, and we wargame and create hypotheticals and recount examples from history. All well and good. But the moment someone makes overt threats of physical harm to others, they have crossed the line, and whatever heat rains down on them is of their own doing.

It was foolishly said, and discredits the cause. It would have been different if he had said “I will defend myself” or “I will defend my rights,” or something like that.

The Brits fired the first shots in the Revolution. Americans then returned their fire. If it comes to a civil war in this country I would expect the same, with the Nazis in the government or the fruitcakes on the left starting the killing—not the real conservatives.

This guy’s business is to train people to use weapons to defend themselves and their families, not to go out and kill people—unless those people threaten to kill them first.

“Wrong. TN is a “shall issue State”. They can’t just strip your permit without charges being filed.”

Wrong. I live in TN. They can strip your permit if someone files a protection order. Anyone can file a protection order for no good reason whatsoever

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt.

This has been discussed elsewhere.

He’s quasi-legit. He did a tactical error as a contractor out East that earned him some infamy.

He’s a world class douche.

But he’s our douche. He’s no Alex Jones that’s for damn sure.

Hang together or hang separately.

Choose.

Holy Moley! That link to the Chitown P.D. police chief is something!
"HYPOCRISY ON HIGH: I'm sure Police Officer Garry Francis McCarthy sure felt that very same way back on that St. Paddy's Day in the 46 Precinct, when off-duty and in the bag, he and his brother, Jimmy, (NYSP Trooper - also off-duty and in the bag)
allegedly started a near riot by allegedly shouting the ‘N’ word at the locals while allegedly attempting to shoot out the street lights while allegedly being “intox” to the point he (they) almost couldn't stand."

Good thing he's a Rahm appointee!

I would normally be inclined to agree with your logic, but the application of what you say is NOT uniformly followed by those “in charge.” There have been plenty of “left-wing” folks making similar threats against conservatives.....but they are not denied due process by the “state.” It seems that “all animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others.”

Thing is, the nuts will make the first move - and the rest of us will have to deal with the aftermath.
Less discussion about what should happen, and more discussion about what will.

So, if someone stated they were going to rob you, and you said “If you do that, I’m going to kill you”, or if they stated “We could just round up the [insert subgroup here] and send them to camps” and you said “if you do that, I’ll kill the collection goons”, that’s an unprotected speech/overt threat???

Logically that’s absurd. While it might be inflammatorially stupid to blurt out such in public, it hardly warrants the suspension of his carry permit.
