You only seize something from someone who defends it. The House of Representatives have been giving away their authority for decades, so they don't have to make a decision and upset someone and threaten their chances of re-election.

The Weeper of the House and the House Republicans have done nothing, nothing, nothing to exert their authority in the past 2 years. Obama doesn't need to seize a thing. It's just sitting there waiting to be used.

He won’t have to seize it, Boehner will give it to him, all the while saying,”We did the right thing”. With the representation we havewe are going to be lucky to get out of this with our asses.

There are few Constitutional principles more clear than that Congress is in charge of allotting the nation’s cash. . .

And there have been few Houses more cowardly than the current one, which
just
doesn't
seem
to get that.

Gingrich made a great suggestion a few weeks ago when he said that Boehner and the Republicans should study how Tip O'Neil ran the House during Reagan's presidency. I remember the era quite well. It does not even vaguely resemble what is happening with the freaking GOP-controlled House we have today.

There is no fallacy. Yes all money is equal until the public refuses to recognize it.

If the public or a large fraction refuses money as money, the currency collapses as has happened many times before.

This time, There needs to be a revolt against recent money and a non federal clearinghouse to distinguish between old money and recent money. For example, you submit your statements of old money to the new clearinghouse which deals only in old money and your old money is recognized as old money. Of course you can still use your old money as new money if you want to and submit it to the federal reserve clearinghouse system.

The only distinction between the old and new is the clearinghouse certification which people would voluntarily use.

You can accept new money. However if a portion of society wants to do a defacto seccession, you refuse new money and only use old money as approved by the new non federal reserve clearinghouse for digital account settlements.

If a large enough group refused new money, it will quickly die. All money is worthless script based only upon voluntary agreement to use it.

So if Obama goes “zimbabwe” we could stop him by refusing to recognize the new money even though the federal reserve settlement system would not make the distinction. An independent settlement system could refuse new money.
