As lawmakers from Connecticut to California rush to propose new restrictions on firearms and ammunition, state-level gun-rights activists are playing defense for the first time in years, with some saying they face fights they may not win.

“Our backs are against the wall,” said Scott Wilson, president of the Connecticut Citizens Defense League, a pro-gun rights group. “We are in for the fight of our lives. I have never seen anything like it.”

A call to arms. The obvious strategy by the cult of Obama is to try and overwhelm the legislatures and the people with new propositions and orders, hoping to get SOMETHING to stick....

The camel's nose under the tent.

The right seems to have abandoned people power in the streets. Beyond the January 19th show of support at gun stores and ranges, there doesn't seem to be any drive for major demonstrations. Obama needs to look out his window and see a million Second Amendment supporters who decry the callous use of emotionalism from the mass shootings to strip Americans of their natural rights. Where is the counter charge that liberals have endangered children by establishing gun free victim zones and encouraging copycat killers with their hysteria and lurid media coverage?

Looks like Obama has finally managed to unite a lot of people.

"We are in for the fight of our lives."

Yeah, it may no longer be about writing or calling your "representative" anymore.

With a gun available you really don’t need to go show Obamugabe what a good target you’d make. This guy is a madman ~ don’t give him a chance to fire on you.

People fall for red herrings. 20 kids died. Sorry, but boo-hoo. It’s significant and should continue to waste our time and threaten our rights because it happened all at once? That’s like letting “Jaws” prevent you from swimming. Tens of thousands die on highways every year, many if then kids. And you know what? There is no inalienable right to drive in the Constitution, though I can argue fir its existence.

Why don’t we call for automobiles to be outlawed, unless we’re envirolunies? Because we’re smarter than that. We are also much, much stupider than that, which is why unusual events cause us to lash out at innocent people.

If he would fire on demonstrators demanding their Constitutional rights, he needs to be unmasked now. If we are afraid he would shoot us for carrying signs, then all hope within the system is already lost.

He shouldn’t look out his window and see us carrying signs IMHO. That sends the wrong message.

not really ~ one of the hallmarks of American resilience is the common sense of the troops on the ground who follow their instincts to find cover.

If you think it takes martyrs to rouse the nation, think again. This is not Latin America, the middle east, or the left bank of the seine.

You know what? You are absolutely right. We are on the verge of American Revolution 2.0 We have no representatives in Congress that have the back-bone to stand up to the would-be dictator. This was why we had a U.S. Constitution - to protect minority rights. Obama and the democrats are acting like "majority take all" - you lost, we win INCLUDING shred ignoring our Constitution. Buckle Up America, we are in for one bumpy ride!

Marbury vs Madison “Any law that is repugnant to the Constitution is null and void”.

They took an Oath to defend and uphold the Constitution. So it all means nothing?

It’s not about guns, it’s about people without morals and upbringing. Of course there are the mental cases but MOST OF THE TIME, it is the people who have little or no home life and proper upbringing. Guns are nothing more than a tool. It’s the use of the tool and the intent that is the problem. Why not spend our time on the SOCIAL issues that are the real cause of senseless killings. If I were intent on doing away with someone (I am NOT), I have numerous options to complete the task WITHOUT needing a gun. More restrictions will NOT solve the real problem.

"not really ~ one of the hallmarks of American resilience is the common sense of the troops on the ground who follow their instincts to find cover."

With modern technology, form 4473s, tracking of purchases, visits to ranges, social media, etc. the government will be able to find most gun owners. If guns or gun type are prohibited, most owners will be identified. Mass confrontation through demonstrations are the last peaceful way of attempting to change the course of legislation and government. If we go to ground or simply write and call, the left will win - incrementally perhaps, but they will keep slicing. Obama intends for total control, and waiting to fight another day will only lead to disarmament and help the authorities to focus on small targets at their convenience. I think groups like the NRA, GOA the VCDL and others would be well advised to mobilize the street for forceful, but peaceful mass demonstrations.

We are well beyond that ~ did Obamugabe's friendship with Venezuela's dictator not tell you where he's at ~ peaceful demonstrators were being shot by snipers!

Obamugabe crossed the line when he fawned on that guy. You cannot trust him ~ in anything ~ not ever!

Obama will not stop unless he's forced to. He hates everything good that our country was built on. He is going to force his agenda upon on if we can't find a way to stop him.

Much of the power he has on paper to enforce obedience within law enforcement and the military aren't on his side.

I was thinking about the group of 20 or 30 Russians that trained with the US at Fort Carson awhile back, which made people start thinking about large numbers of Russians being used against us by Obama. I know that kind of humiliation against Americans on our own soil would be enjoyed by Obama and the bitter Putin.

What opinions do you guys have on the tactical aspects of something like this used along with attempts to cause a defensive breakdown and unpreparedness?
