Houston trial lawyers Steve and Amber Mostyn say they’re giving $1 million to a gun-control group formed by former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly. Steve Mostyn is a major Democratic campaign contributor, backing candidates in Texas and nationally. He gave $3 million to Priorities USA Action, a super PAC aiding President Obama’s re-election. He’s perhaps best known in Texas for launching a media campaign against Rick Perry two years ago in which he chided the Republican governor for his reluctance to debate in his 2010 reelection race with a full-page newspaper ad depicting Perry and the word ”Coward.”
Mostyn, who describes himself as a gun-owner, says the group hopes to raise $20 million for the 2014 elections – enough to match the National Rifle Association’s political giving. The NRA spent $13 million last year trying to defeat President Obama’s reelection. It also spent money in seven Senate races, losing six and winning one.
In media interviews, Mostyn said Americans for Republican Solutions with support pro-gun-control candidates and conduct a public education campaign with television spots. Giffords launched the new group this week.

This is a hostile act toward 2nd Amendment rights. We should counter this by contributing to your favorite Pro 2nd Amendment organization. This is only one individual with some money to waste.

I am surprised someone has not started a speech control group to parody these anti-gun nuts. All the same arguments could be used. The founders never envisioned internet, instant world-wide communications, movies, etc. when they wrote the first ammendment. The right should be limited to all ways to communicate at the time the Constitution was written (like the “cannon argument”). And why does anybody really NEED to create or watch films or videos? If controlling speech saves just one life, then it should be done. Limit the number of movies one can watch each year and you must be registered to do any public speaking and declare your intentions. I guess some people don’t understand that the second is all that really backs up the first ammendment.

These people need to be identified and exposed. This type of individual is the REAL problem in this nation. Obama is NOT the problem. Democrat congressmen and women are not the problem. It IS people like Mostyn that are the problem, hiding behind politicians doing their bidding. THESE GUYS HAVE TO BE DEPORTED OR FORCED TO FLEE TO SOME OTHER COUNTRY.
Why is it that ambulance chasers are liberals? I think it is their guilt from stealing from others to make their wealth. They are like government bureaucrats - they create nothing, only redistribute.

I think it’s already been done but it wasn’t a parody. What about stating your religious beliefs can be hate speech?
They lobby so that everything a person or business does is an infraction of some law or regulation and can be sued. That gets them more clients. Good example, the Disabilities Act has put many businesses completely out of business.
People always try to justify their life. This is how Me Gifford justifies hers. She might get 30% better but that is about it. I did not like her before the shooting either
I blame her stupid astronaut husband for egging her on. They have their anti-gun foundation now and they now have a steady paycheck from this non-profit. Plenty of other useless eater incompetent libs get hired too.

Like most all libs, they’re in it for the money and will dance on dead babys’ graves if that’s what it takes to get some. They should be considered for what they are: useless pieces of human dung, bottom-feeders of the worst kind.
