“Exactly when has this perverse communist and his administration demonstrated even a modicum of understanding or appreciation of history?”

That will be his downfall

“Didn’t Bill Ayers say that 25 million Americans would need to be exterminated at some point”

Ayers was probably a bit right. The number is closer to 75 mil, and they’re all libs

Muskets are that asshole thinks we should have: “AK-47’s are inappropriate for private ownership, of course.” Plus, he was directly responsible for the 1968 Gun Control Act, none of which he ever tried to repeal. All bravado and bullsh*t.

“Western thinking has become conservative:
the world situation should stay as it is at any cost;
there should be no changes. ....
The communist regime in the East could stand and grow due to the enthusiastic support
from an enormous number of Western intellectuals who felt a kinship and refused to see
communism's crimes. And when they no longer could do so, they tried to justify them. In
our Eastern countries, communism has suffered a complete ideological defeat; it is zero
and less than zero. But Western intellectuals still look at it with interest and with
empathy, and this is precisely what makes it so immensely difficult for the West to
withstand the East.”

(Art.) In the second volume of the three volume epic, Solzhenitsyn takes us by the hand through what he calls the "Destructive Labor Camps," in the region between the White Sea port of Belomorsk, to Leningrad (formerly St. Petersburg) on the Baltic Sea...

Comments

There was another "planetary system" of destructive-labor camps in the broad region around Magadan, a seaport on the Sea of Okhotsk in the northern Russian Far East (RFE), also described by Solzhenitsyn and other dissident writers. The city of Magadan and the towns around it are largely populated today by descendants of the guards and the few survivors of the camps who eventually managed to establish themselves after serving out their terms (that they hadn't been expected to outlast).

The privation, brutality, and the cynicism of the State were just unbelievable. And let me point out yet again that the genocidal butchers of 20th-century history have largely, and almost all -- even Ho Chi Minh -- been men who grew up in middle-class comfort, like Bill Ayers and Barack Obama.

This will end up making an angry, violent resistence very much likely.

I read Solzhenistyn when I was in High School/College. I just gave my kids a few of his books in paperback as stocking stuffers this Christmas. I can’t make them read them, but maybe they will. I know his books helped me understand what oppressive governments can do.

This will backfire. If the government says “Turn in your guns” all the liberal gun owners will obey. After a few days only conservatives will be armed.

Nah, the liberals will be as two-faced as ever and hold on to their own guns even as they scream for them to be taken away from others just as they hang on to their own money even as they scream for redistribution and just as they move form their liberal paradises to places like South Carolina to escape the taxes they voted for in their liberal paradise.
Liberals think conservatives are inconsistent because we believe in the death penalty for murderers but want to protect the life of unborn children. They are all INSANE! They literally have no concept of logic whatsoever and trying to talk to them is as futile as trying to catch a load of moonlight in a fishnet. They learn nothing except by the hard way and usually not even that way.
