Several hundred thousand due in Paris to protest gay marriage

Several hundred thousand people are expected to march through Paris on Sunday against the planned legalization of same-sex marriage in the first mass protest against the unpopular President Francois Hollande.

Strongly backed by the Catholic hierarchy, lay activists have mobilized a hybrid coalition of church-going families, political conservatives, Muslims, evangelicals and even homosexuals opposed to gay marriage for the show of force.

So many are expected to converge on Paris from around France that police had organizers split it into three separate columns starting from different points around the city and meeting in the Champ de Mars park at the Eiffel Tower.

Frigide Barjot, an eccentric comedian leading the so-called "Demo for All," insists the protest is pro-marriage rather than anti-gay and has banned all but its approved banners saying a child needs a father and a mother to develop properly.

"We're all born of a man and a woman, but the law will say the opposite tomorrow," she said last week. "It will say a child is born of a man and a man."

Why protest gay “marriage”? Isn’t that like protesting goblins, unicorns, and werewolves? As disgusting as the idea is, gay “marriage” is a fiction, and a few politically correct nutcases pretending it’s anything more will not change reality. I will simply refuse to recognize that fiction or to allow it to interfere with living in the real world.

Because the French government, like ours, is trying to make it a legal institution and then will probably impose it even on organizations that disagree with it (such as the Church).

Unintended consequences......

Once the destruction of Western civilization is complete, Radical Islam will be fighting against armies of homosexuals for world domination.

Maybe it’s time for people with deep religious scruples and convictions, to go to their CHURCHHOUSE and get married, and leave off the $$ they want at the COURTHOUSE, in that the have forfeited their right to give HOLY MATRIMONY rights, when they decided boys marry boys. Time to cut off their TAX for people trying to do things with the ORIGINAL DESIGN plan in mind.

I never saw anything like this in the U.S. Time to stop making fun of the French? At least they’re fighting back.

So, the breakdown so called “gay marriage” would cause to Christian churches is okay by you? Maybe you should re-think your position...

No Christian church would perform a ceremony that directly violates God's Word. Some pretend churches were already pretending to perform "commitment" ceremonies, and I don't see pretending that it is a lawful and meaningful wedding does any more harm to the church than the ceremonies that were already occurring. Now, if the thugs in any government attempt to compel real Christians to perform those ceremonies as if they were valid, then I have a huge problem with it.

Muslims, Conservatives, Evangelicals united... a good place to repeat the old saw, “Politics makes strange bedfellows.”

They will have no choice...you really do not get it do you?

People like you are every bit as dangerous to society as the left are...someday you will wake up and wonder what happened to your country and society...you will blame others never understanding that in large part it was your blindness to reality that gave them power to destroy what you love.

Take a wild guess who’s gonna win and whose heads will roll.

I agree that it is an impossibility, but it was always a danger with the state involvement in the modern era. The definition the state uses to recognize the institution is simply whatever judges, pols, or the voting majority think it is at any one time.

‘I will simply refuse to recognize that fiction or to allow it to interfere with living in the real world.’

It’s the state imposed punishments like jail, fines, property seizures, loss of tax exempt status(maybe a good thing in the long run) for not buying whatever impossibility the state is calling marriage at the time that will make that hard to do.

“I never saw anything like this in the U.S. Time to stop making fun of the French? At least they’re fighting back.”

I always said that France will lead the way against Islamists in Western Europe causing a domino effect to stop the Islamist plague from realizing their dream of a Caliphate.

I’m pleasantly surprised that they’re leading the way against the destruction of traditional marriage and family institutions by the homo plague.

France may be the wild card in saving Western Civilization.
