Former Secretary of State Gen. Colin Powell defended current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's handling of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, saying it could've happened under anyone's watch.

"I think she's had a distinguished record," Powell said in an interview on NBC's "Meet The Press" broadcast Sunday. "And I don't think that this one incident--which is one of these things that those of us in government have been through many, many times where suddenly an action happens late at night ... "If the RNC was more like the Vatican, this guy would have been excommunicated and expelled from the party a long time ago."

Yep. That's the problem with the Big Tent philosophy- it provides an open door for opportunists and ego maniacs to worm their way in and cause havoc in the party.

We were much better off when we focused upon working together with Libertarians, Reagan Democrats and open-minded Independents- people who we might not agree with 100% of the time, but who are serious about solving problems, rather than frauds like Powell who use every opportunity to bash the Republican party if they don't get their way every time.
