Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has an appointment with reporters today to discuss his plans to go after public funding to renovate Sun Life Stadium.

The cost estimate is $400 million, says the Miami Herald, some of which Ross apparently hopes to raise from state and local government sources.

Laughable. How about selling stock to raise the funds?

How about a bank heist? It’s just as immoral, but quicker and more fun to watch.

How about a bank heist?
That's exactly what funding this krap with tax dollars is - a heist.
Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson, a multi-millionaire, got $200 million in taxpayer dollars 5-6 years ago to "renovate the stadium" - then had the gall to rename the stadium after himself.
Last month, feckin' Albany gave him another $95 million.
Since every single player is also a millionaire, how about if Wilson robs them to stay in business and leaves us the hell alone? Or better yet - go out of business - no one would miss you, you shameless thief.

The goverment will do it. They need us distracted by "circuses" while they loot our nation before the burning begins.

We are falling just like Rome.

Adding insult to injury, the Feckin’ Bills don’t even play all their home games in Buffalo. They play one game a year in Toronto.

I building and operating a stadium were profitable, every professional sports team in America would build their own stadium, arena, etc.

Hey that stadium in Toronto was also government funded. Cost about 600 million and those sharp government operators sold it for $25 million.

Good luck. After lots of big talk from our elected betters, we’re on the hook for $975 million for a new playground for the Wilf boys here in Minnesota.

It’ll be a big fight. The right words will get said. But in the end, the taxpayers will lose. They always do.

Even when the Dolphins were good, they never sold out, Miami is a terrible sports town, nothing but “fair weather” fans there, and most of the snowbirds down there just go to the games to root for their teams.

WHY should Joe-sixpack from Miami Gardens, with four kids, and not afford buying one ticket for sleazeball Ross’ plan, when he never sets foot at JOE ROBBIE stadium. Or why should strangers when checking in on a hotel room do the same. or WHY should I, only been ONE time at a game since 1990, pay for this “Luxury”???

Since Jimmy Johnson destroyed Dan Marino and Don Shula left the Dolphins been nothing but a mediocre team. And there are more Jets fans here than Dolphins fans!!!

When the Yankees come to town, Marlins Stadium becomes “Yankee Stadium South”.

This is why I gave up watching professional sports, and why I cannot understand why certain, otherwise great, talkshow hosts cannot help but talk about their favorite teams, like the Pittsburgh Steelers (Stealers).
