True. And another thing-Republicans needn’t gloat too much over what’s happened to Detroit, the takeover I mean, because guess where the funds to make up the shortfall are going to come from? That’s right-productive (majority white majority conservative, ie Republican) folks. The good thing is that Detroit adds one more piece to the picture of what’s behind so much dysfunction in this country-the bad thing is that, as usual, the people who didn’t have a hand in creating the mess, “get” to pay for it, as always. More wealth transfer, or “reparations”, just like we’ve paying for decades now, more every year. They play, we pay.

Whole Foods Market opening store in Jackson
MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Whole Foods Market announced that it will build a 30,000 square-foot store at Jackson’s Highland Village shopping center.
Whole Foods is an “upscale grocery-store chain” based in Austin, Texas. This will be its first store in Mississippi.

Highland is on the border line as far as I can tell just passing by on 55. Have one daughter in law who works close by she seems comfortable there.
Jackson has only one Walmart in the city limits. It is off 18 in south town. The rest are where the rich white repubs shop, Brandon, Madison, Clinton etc.
Not sure about movies. Last time I went was in 1996 and that was in Madison

My umderstanding is that Whole Foods were offered all kinds of incentives to locate there. Not that that’s unusual. But a lot of the funds for the incentives came from federal grant money.

I can’t believe Whole Foods is opening a store there! My goodness...pigs are flying somewhere!

The CEO is a pretty good guy. At least he understands capitalism, unlike so many of these upscale, organic, vegan loving stores are concerned.

The funny thing is that he’s a right wing hippie. ;o)
