Sliding Scale of Slippery Socialist Metrics

I like it!

Yeah, there was a guy named Aristotle a long time ago who tried to come to grips with the question “What is Good?”.
Essentially trying to come up with a metric.

Before you declare something a “success” or “failure” you have to know what metric is being applied and by whom.

When I look around the world and over the scope of history, I see a consistent pattern. Dictators have invariably lived in splendor while the population around them lives in abject misery and fear. I can only assume that this is not by accident since the pattern is so universal.

True. And another thing-Republicans needn’t gloat too much over what’s happened to Detroit, the takeover I mean, because guess where the funds to make up the shortfall are going to come from? That’s right-productive (majority white majority conservative, ie Republican) folks. The good thing is that Detroit adds one more piece to the picture of what’s behind so much dysfunction in this country-the bad thing is that, as usual, the people who didn’t have a hand in creating the mess, “get” to pay for it, as always. More wealth transfer, or “reparations”, just like we’ve paying for decades now, more every year. They play, we pay.
