Predominance of CNN on "public televisions"
Self | 1-14-2013 | supremedoctrine

A friend of mine from Pennsylvania called me today to tell me of her visit to a local WalMart, where she patronizes a bank located within this Walmart. It was Woodforest Bank. She slowly got incensed having to watch Candy Crowley on the omnipresent CNN,while waiting in line, and decided to do something about it. She started a conversation, which went on quite a while, with a trucker standing in front of her who as it turned out was a classic Low Information Voter, and kept trying to defend Obama, who he knew not surprisingly anything about. This got her more fired up, and she asked the teller why CNN was always on. The teller explained it wasn't her decision, but the decision of this entity called "Corporate". Now my friend wants to start a petition drive against CNN! I've noticed this too, everywhere from airports to pizzerias--it's mostly a phenomenon of these places which have large flat-screen TVs, which includes a LOT of places these days. Our question is, with a viewership of about 15% even less than MSNBC, and dropping like a stone (it's now about 650,000, to FOX's 1.9 million) HOW, pray tell, is CNN managing to keep itself pushed into this level of public exposure? A little research on my part shows me lots of others have noticed this too. Are they paying someone off, sort of like the way a food product can buy shelf space in a major supermarket to get exposure? If so, where is the money coming from?

At a truckers Restaurant that we go to each Sunday to enjoy breakfast ‘out’ their TV is always tuned to FOX...when I pay my bill I always ‘Thank’ them for having FOX NEWS on their TV..that if they put CNN or MSNBC on I will NO longer patronize their place...they always thank me for my remarks....

I just went half-way across the country to see my dad in a nursing care facility and he was watching CNN.

Whenever he would turn it on, I would leave the room. Then come back. If it was still on — I would leave again.

He teased me about watching Fox News in the morning — to which I replied that I don’t watch TV anymore. I just haven’t gotten my TV put where I want it.

But Lo and Behold — I entered the airport and in the waiting room — they had on Fox News — Great Lakes and Frontier Airlines will get my business becuase of this!

Many forget that in allot of places the only reason Fox News can be on is that loads of people demanded that their cable provider get it. Never heard of the same ever happening with CNN or MSNBC anywhere.

In terms of agenda and ideology, there is little difference between CNN and FOX.

A lot of places used to put on Fox News since it was the number one cable news channel, but liberals are very tenacious about complaining about it.

This really highlights a big problem. For the left, politics is like a religion. They are very determined and fanatical when it comes to this stuff, and they do NOT like the population seeing opinions they don’t like.

Politics IS the religion of the left precisely BECAUSE they don’t actually HAVE a religion!

You Nailed it right there!

if you go on a business trip, what newspaper is likely delivered to your door as a courtesy by the hotel?

That's not a courtesy. You pay for it....it's in the bill. When I check in, I ask the desk clerk if they deliver the paper USAToady and that I don't want it and to remove it from my bill. The will do it if you ask.

That's not a typo....USAToady, because they are.

I’ve noticed this all over the world in international sections of airports and in Hotels, CNNI is far more common than BBC. I generally mark it up to payola.

My last wait at an airport very few people were actually watching.

Even if they were watching it is doubtful they'd be able to hear half of it. And the only people who can read the script for the closed captioning are the ones sitting right in front of it, so that leaves out most folks.

When I go somewhere I will have to wait I take a book with me. I just can’t stand Candy Cow-ly, or Wolf-butt Blitzer, or the bald headed black guy with nothing on top of his head and even less within it.

Guess we’re lucky here in our part of mid-south-Jersey - our local diner almost always has Fox on, while a local restaurant goes with CNBC - another diner one town over also goes with CNBC - maybe watching CNN was spoiling people’s appetities.....

It amuses me when they show a 4:3 picture on these sets and stretch it to 16:9. Americans aren’t getting fatter, they are getting flatter.

Not only is politics a religion to the Left, they also have sacred lambs that are scrificed on the alter of their religion; aborted babies. That is why they are so rabid about abortion.

Hell - CNN is the new PBS and fully government backed. Most waiting rooms on the Base have CNN on and I find it ironic that the same doctors’ offices that have signs railing against ObamaCare, usually have their waiting room televisions tuned to CNN.

I’d say you’ve been hoodwinked. Here’s a prime example — the head of FOX calling for federal gun control.
