The New York Police Department wants pharmacies in and around the city to fight prescription drug thefts by stocking pill bottles fitted with GPS tracking chips.

Brilliant. Now the druggies will just discard the bottle ASAP.
And the thieves will simply switch the pills into a different container.
logic and liberals don’t often agree.
Microwave pill bottle for 5 sec.
This will only catch the dumb pill bandits making way for smarter shrewder criminals.
Thanks to YOU, the thieves have a way around the new law.
Thanks to YOU, this technological advance will be useless.
They wouldn't have figured it out, except for YOU.
Whose side are you ON, anyway?
;-)
When they come up with these ideas, you would think they would brainstorm how others would circumvent the technology. But I guess they do not.
Why don’t they just stuff Bloomberg into a pill bottle?
He’s small enough....
Then he could “pop out” and arrest the drug theives....
“Brilliant”
Someone told me that if you score too high on the entrance exam for the NYPD you are excluded . . . I don’t know if there’s any truth to that but it was funny when I heard it.
Sorry, but why are we supposed to blindly trust police again?
Or use zip-lock baggies.
They do know that if the people have the bottles inside there is a good chance they won’t be tracked. GPS won’t pick them up.
What’s next Bloomie going to chip drink cups so people don’t drink too much soda??
I do not carry around any of my prescription bottles. there’s just too many of them. I keep several days of pills in the same unmarker container, which will fit in my pocket.
I’m really fed up with nanny state drug laws that target everyone instead of the junkies. I don’t care if the junkies overdose; let them.
Obviously, the problem here is the easy availability of semiautomatic, high capacity prescription bottles. Why does a patient need to take more than one dose from the pharmacy anyway? Maybe we should just ban medicines that are too often diverted to illegal use.
Bloomie will put weigh stations all over New York.If your BMI is too high, you don’t get to eat that day.
Once the druggies start transferring the pills into different containers Nanny Bloomberg will just outlaw Baggies.
The tracking chips would not be inconspicuous either. You can get a small GPS tracker that simply stores the location data for later retrieval. However, if you want one that can transmit its location, it is going to be at least the size of a pager/garage door opener. So, I’m sure any bottles equipped with this technology would be significantly larger and easy to spot.
Now, it’s just getting silly.
