STAND UP FOR THE SECOND AMENDMENT BY STANDING WITH NEW YORK STATE SENATOR KATHLEEN MARCHIONE

SIGN KATHY’S PETITION TO REPEAL AND REPLACE RESTRICTIVE NEW GUN CONTROL MEASURES THAT WILL WEAKEN THE SECOND AMENDMENT CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF LAW-ABIDING NEW YORKERS

SENATOR KATHLEEN MARCHIONE Protecting Our 2nd Amendment Rights

Help Senator Marchione Repeal and Replace Restrictive New Gun Control that Weakens the Second Amendment Constitutional Rights of Law-Abiding New Yorkers!

In a vote held in the state Legislature last night – Monday, January 14, 2013 – the Second Amendment Constitutional freedoms of New Yorkers were weakened with passage of restrictive new gun control. I strongly opposed this legislation that was rushed through both houses of our state Legislature without a single public hearing or the proper time to carefully review the bill.

Law-abiding citizens are NOT the issue! Millions of New Yorkers own firearms and do so safely, responsibly and legally. The real issue, the real threat, is dangerous criminals having guns and the seriously mentally ill obtaining access to guns.

Monday’s vote was only the beginning, not the end, of a critically important debate. I believe we must repeal and replace the restrictive parts of the enacted legislation. We should focus on increasing penalties for criminals who use firearms and addressing the issue of mental illness. However, I cannot do it alone: I need strong Second Amendment supporters like you to stand strong – and stand with me.

Please sign my Legislative Petition to build public support for repealing and replacing the restrictive gun control measures. If every New Yorker who supports the Second Amendment makes their voices heard we can forge a true public safety remedy that addresses real issues such as dangerous criminals and mental health without curtailing the Second Amendment.

This is no time to sit on the sidelines: every gun owner, hunter, sportsman and supporter of the Second Amendment must get involved. Now is the time to be heard! I will personally deliver these petitions to the Governor and Legislative Leaders.

YES Senator Marchione, I support your efforts to preserve and protect the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding New Yorkers by repealing and replacing restrictive new gun control. Keep standing strong for our Constitutional Freedoms!

It doesn't say you have to be from NY. I signed this. She was one of two Reboublican Senators who spoke last night to explain why they voted against this bill.

If New Yorkers had any BRAINS at all, they would cut Manhattan and Buffalo OFF from the rest of the state.

New York is a conservative state. But the shear number of barking moonbats on “The Island” and in Buffalo, rule the day.

The state should go the way of Virginia/West Virginia, and be done with it.

And any idiot who voted for this travesty should be handed walking papers.

Why do I think that house and cabin buying along the NY, PA border is going to spike big time?

It is quite unwise to provoke an unshackled bull by trying to de-horn him.

(from the article)~ ;” Law-abiding citizens are NOT the issue! Millions of New Yorkers own firearms and do so safely, responsibly and legally. The real issue, the real threat, is dangerous criminals having guns and the seriously mentally ill obtaining access to guns. “

The only criminals were the NY State Senate , operating at night ( 11:00 PM ) and concluding the vote (at 11:20 PM )on (January 14, 2013) to violate the NYS citizens 2nd Amendment Costitutional rights .
Furthermore , on January 15, 2013 , they were joined by the NY State Assembly to violate the NYS citizens Costitutional rights .
Both votes were held in violation of the State Constitution
to have 3 days for discussion.

This was Governor Andy’s attempt to be a bigger sabatour to Federal Constitutional rights than Obummer !
Andy is trying to out be more liberal than the Zero libturd !!
Good Luck Andy , currently running for President for 2016 (Get out of the State !)

Allegedly, “Gun Free Zones” keep us all safe. So why are anti-gun journalists and politicians unwilling to put them on their houses? Great video from Project Veritas.

It's not as easy but it can be found. I'm picking up an additional 500 rounds of .223 tomorrow. I am finding it by visiting my LGS on a almost daily basis to find them. It's actually been enjoyable because I'm meeting those of a like mind.

In anticipation of further bans/restrictions, I think we may all need to be thinking about reversion back to old school techniques - bulletin boards, code, etc. No more internet...

This needs to be challenged in court based on Miller saying that Americans can have “military” style weapons and recent ruling that the 2A represents an individual right.

Done! Although I believe it’s too late for NY. I’ve lived here for 61 years and I’ve watched us sink ever deeper into the abyss. Nothing you do or say can stop these self destructive idiots from wrecking this state completely. We’ve become Kol-e-fornia with more snow and no Disneyland.

Here’s another one of the ‘Good Guys’ from NY that joined with the others to try to defeat Cuomo’s un-Constitutional Bill. I suggest everyone send him a “THANK YOU” email for his efforts.

New York State Senator James L. Seward
51rst Senate District
Oneonta, NY

Dear _______

I am back at my desk this morning after a long night in which 17 other courageous GOP senators joined me in voting NO on the governor’s bill to crack down on law abiding gun owners.

New York’s already onerous gun regulations – a ban on semiautomatics and a lengthy pistol licensing process – now become even more strict with the legislation that will reduce magazine capacities and broaden the definition of “assault weapons” to include more guns, based only on cosmetic characteristics.

I voted NO because the bill, while including some positive steps toward dealing with the mentally ill, just isn’t tough enough on the real criminals who get guns illegally and use them for murderous ends. We should not have rushed to pass a bill that diminishes our Second Amendment rights.

As you know, I have always been skeptical of gun bans as a panacea for gun crimes committed by people with illegally-obtained guns. That’s why I have never voted for a gun control bill.

I fought to go after the real problem – the illegal guns which make up 90 percent of the gun crimes in NYC and 70 percent of the crimes across the rest of the state.

Key provisions of the governor’s bill:

*Expanded definition of ‘assault weapon;’
*Recertification (not renewal) of pistol licenses;
*Background check on all ammunition purchases;
*No Internet purchases of ammo except through a gun dealer;
*Registration of currently owned guns defined as ‘assault weapons’ with the state police;
*Private sales of long guns will have to go through a dealer for a NICS check;
*Limits on the number of cartridges in a magazine to seven (can still possess a ten round magazine; but can load it only with seven rounds);
*Pistol license to buy pistol/revolver ammunition … and others.

What we defeated:

*Confiscation of ten round magazines;
*Statewide database on all guns;
*Smaller limits on magazine capacity;
*Limits on the number of magazines one could possess;
*One gun per month purchase limits;
*Relicensing of all pistol licensees;
*Microstamping;
*Mandatory locking and storage of all guns in the home.

I understand the concern about the Connecticut killings. This bill won’t do much to prevent such a horrendous act from happening again, since it is light on treatment for the mentally ill.

As always, I will continue to advocate for the rights of law abiding citizens to own and possess guns for lawful purposes, like hunting, collecting, target shooting or protection of hearth and home.

Jim
