Full Title: Chicago pays $22.5 MILLION to woman who was gang raped and plummeted from seventh story window after police failed to take proper care of her

The city of Chicago agreed today to pay a record $22.5 million to a woman who was released from police custody in 2006 and instead of being taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, she was released into a high crime area where she was gang raped and plummeted seven stories.

Christina Eilman, was 21-years-old when the crime occurred and she suffered permanent brain damage from the fall and has needed constant medical care ever since.

Eilman, who is bipolar, was taken into police custody at Midway Airport after suffering a mental breakdown on her flight from California.

Rather than bring Eilman to a hospital, police released her after 29 hours in custody, despite her parents calling at least nine times to warn them about her mental health status and that she was having an episode.

Police later testified at a deposition hearing that she was visibly agitated and should have been taken to the hospital. Witnesses said she was throwing herself against the bars in her jail cell.

“I know some people who attended the recent Stones concerts there...And they will not be going back. Newark NJ.”

I’ve heard both positive & negative stories from people who go there, but anyone I know who has been there knows what they are dealing with. Like the convoy system of WWII, whites or Asians have to travel in a large pack (and it can’t be exclusively female). Thankfully the Meadowland Arena is still open (to build the one in Newark the supporters argued there was sufficient business for both, and when it was completed, those same supporters tried to shut down the old one with the rationale that there wasn’t enough business for both). Now concerts, the circus, etc. schedule dates at both; those who are able can go to the Meadowlands, and whoever wants to journey into the heart of darkness can go to the Prudential Center.

Good. Hope it helps bankrupt Chicago.

100% Obama voting precincts need to lose all government assistance. If they worked for a living, they’d be voting Republican.

The police released her in to the Ghetto.

So.... they drove to the middle of the 'ghetto' and shoved her out the door of the police car?

The police don't drive you home (or anywhere else) AFTER you get released.

Was the police station in the middle of the ghetto?

After looking back at my first response, I see I wasn’t being clear.

Maybe a few of the more corrupt cops had their way with her during the 26 hours they ‘detained’ her, then wanted the evidence gotten rid of. If they drove her to the ghetto, as you say, and dumped her, maybe they arranged to have her shoved out a window as well.

Again, them NOT taking her to a hospital, and then DRIVING her to the local ‘ghetto’ stinks worse than sharkbait in a bucket.

Ask the police to take you ANYWHERE, after your release from jail. Bet they laugh.

I NEVER said that the police drove her to the ghetto. I'm not from Chicago so I don't know where the station she was at is. The article said that she was released by police in to a high crime area. Sorry I did not research the article but I'm not privy to all the court records and I don't have time to research it.

In regard to your theory about corrupt cops having their way with her and then purposely releasing her in to a high crime area, well it's plausible. This did happen in Chicago.
