Moody's Investors Service now has a negative outlook for the entire U.S. higher education sector, the rating agency said on Wednesday, citing "mounting fiscal pressure on all key university revenue sources."
Since 2009, Moody's had had a stable outlook for market-leading, research-driven colleges and universities and a negative outlook for the rest of the higher education sector.
"The U.S. higher education sector has hit a critical juncture in the evolution of its business model," said Eva Bogaty, Moody's assistant vice president, in a statement. "Even market-leading universities with diversified revenue streams are facing diminished prospects for revenue growth."
The agency said one critical factor in the expansion of that negative outlook was that students' price sensitivity is keeping tuition payments low.

The college bubble.
There is nothing that government meddling can’t muck up.
Imagine that, the Keynesian gangrene has spread to another sector of the economy.
Not to worry. Obama will prop up all of his leftist university brain washers with our tax dollars.
Investing in Pell Grants to Make College Affordable
Raising the Maximum Pell Grant and Assuring that It Continues to Grow
We will provide the support necessary for you to complete college and meet a new goal: by 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world. - President Barack Obama February 24, 2009
Their logic is sound. You cannot make money from learning underwater basket weaving or womyn’s studies, so WTF are these schools offering these degrees? A 6 month course at a community college for welding, and within a year or two of experience you can walk into a really lucrative job.
Plus they priced themselves right out of the market with the salaries they pay these professors of which only 10% of them are worth that much pay and retirement benefits.
I’m SHOCKED that another 3rd party payer system has proven to be a wasteful boondoggle.
Yep. Lots of jobs for skilled welders, pipefitters, plumbers, carpenters, etc.
I’ve been impressed with the president of my alma mater, Texas A&M.
He pushed for A&M to move to the SEC. He even fired the athletic director. Well, it was a great move, and A&M is bringing in lots of marketing and other revenue. Of course, having Johnny Heisman is also helping.
I’m just glad to see that the president is thinking outside the box on bringing in revenues to the university.

almost everything pushed by Democrats encourages citizens to work less, produce less. Go to college to learn worthless, leftist drivel...stay on unemployment...retire early...go on welfare...stay on welfare...go on family leave...go on disability...join a union. There is a large chunk of the USA that needs to go back to work. Produce more, grow the economy.
The failing Universities are centers for leftist pedophilies and other perverts.
Universities waste too much money on political correctness studies. Put the leftists race and sex retards out to pasture. Give students some value for their effort, time and money for a change.
Conservatives used to fight for colleges to keep costs down by arguing against waste on social re-education radical studies. We stopped doing that and the left has taken higher education into the ghetto. It’s arrived at Detroit now.
