After the chair of the Illinois state Republican Party called on his partys state senators to cast votes for same-sex marriage, members of the GOP party leadership are calling for his resignation.
Pat Brady defied the Republican Partys platform when he started making lobbying calls to his partys senators to change their position on same-sex marriage. Brady told The Daily Herald that he made the calls as a private citizen and not in his capacity as chairman, but members of party leadership are still outraged.
Pat Brady is a total disgrace, said Bobbie Peterson, a Republican state central committeewoman from Beecher, Ill. according to WBEZ. Hes a pretty face for TV. He can speak well. Period. But whats coming out of his mouth is not what the Illinois Republican party is about.
Joining the calls for Bradys resignation is the National Organization for Marriage, which said that it will spend $250,000 to defeat any Republican that joins Brady in voting in favor of same-sex marriage in Illinois.
The states same-sex marriage bill was introduced earlier this month in a lame duck session, but lacked the votes to be brought for an official vote. Local pro-family activists expect that there will be another push for the bill in the new session, however.

I have no doubt a majority of the members don't want him. The problem is that it takes 60% of the weighed vote to remove him if he won't resign, and the votes are weighed by total number of GOP primary ballots cast in that district. I'm in Bobby Rush's district, so my SSC member has very little power (go figure)

Keep in mind the GOP Presidential candidate oversaw the implementation of this when he was Gov.
Entire ship is full of fifth column rats.
I know! That’s why I voted for Santorum in the Ma. primary.
I considered that my vote against gay marriage that I was denied in 2007.
I did, however, vote for Romney in November, because getting Obama out of the white house was the first big step to trying to get our country back, and Romney was the only one left with a realistic chance of beating him.
No,it wasn’t that I was all about getting Romney in...
I was all about getting Obama out!
Does he think that by sucking up to them they’ll switch parties?
It hasn’t worked in Massachusetts!
Oh I voted for Mitt too.... then went home and showered......
For all the press hype the GOP just flat didn’t believe in their candidate. If you count the # of votes we thought more of John McCain.
The GayOP hasn’t called a truce on “social issues,” they’ve joined the other side.
All it does is piss the majority of the population into hating the GOP. I don’t understand this. They have to be fifth column libs.
Either they're too stupid or too hard-headed to learn that,or...like you say...they were NEVER on our side in the first place!

Totally lame!!! Does his term at least have an end date or is it indefinite?
I’ve wanted Chairman Brady to resign since Oct. 2009. When I ran for state rep., I thought that he would be neutral, before the primary, but he endorsed the most liberal Republican, in my race.
Brady has a four-year term, and he was elected last June.
Whores. All whores.
Anyone that supports the homosexual agenda -in fact, anyone that does not oppose the homosexual agenda is at a minimum by default useful idiots for the leftists and at worst leftists themselves!!!
This RINO gotta go.
P.S. ROMNEY WAS NO CONSERVATIVE! I grow weary of seeing posts whining that the conservative leftist lost to the liberal leftist because true conservative were not enthused about electing a leftist -get a clue people!
