The last time it was fired, it was in 100% working order and is cleaned and maintained regularly. I have no doubt it will go from mantlepiece to functional weapon at the first pull of the trigger ;) Those lever guns may not be ARs, but I don’t wanna get shot by one.

I am really surprised A major mfg still makes ammo for it. Last I heard They’d quit (not Hornady specifically). And as time went by, figured a 100ish YO gun probably should be kept nice and safe for obvious reasons anyway. So I never really looked hard for ammo and my last look scared the ‘lead’ outta me at the price I saw. But I’d never think twice about using it if I had to.
