I have a Ruger 556 (AR platform) and have put 3 x 30 rd mags through it in ~1 minute. Not all the rounds went on target, but the perp was definitely put down.
I could easily do 3 30-round mags in a minute. I’m wondering how close I’d be able to get to doing 9 10-round mags in the same time (shooting at the same rate when I’m not engaged in changing mags). In other words, what difference would it really make to limit ammo magazines to 10 rounds. If you can just change them out in 2-3 seconds and effectively change your rate of fire by only a few percentage points, what’s the difference?
