George Washington, wisely, advocated that Americans adopt the Swiss system, of placing military grade small arms in the family homes and training the teenaged boys in their effective use. He not only saw this as a defense against tyranny, as well as a first line of defense against any invader; he specifically commented on the psychological benefits to the young males in developing a sense of responsibility & constructive purpose.
The Leftist never claim credit for the purposeless youth, from whose midst, the occasional rage driven mass killers arise. But it is obvious that youth raised to chivalric purpose--to the sense of responsibility to defend the women & children, both in their own families and own neighborhoods;--that youth so trained and focused, are infinitely less likely to go off on a suicidal rage driven tangent.
The Left's answer to aspects of a social breakdown, to which their insulting policies are themselves the single most significant contributor, is always to further undermine the moral responsibility & individual competence of the people. If this is not insanity, just what is it?
