Standing on the Graves of Sandy Hook

Last week, I appeared on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." For the past few weeks, Morgan had been inviting gun rights defenders ranging from the reasonable to the nutty, and then slamming them by appealing to the memory of the children slain at Sandy Hook. And when I appeared with Morgan, that's precisely what I told him: "What you tend to do is you tend to demonize people who differ from you politically by standing on the graves of the children of Sandy Hook, saying they don't seem to care enough about the dead kids." Morgan could only stammer, "How dare you!"

A few nights later, he invited me on again, specifically to stand once again on the graves of the children of Sandy Hook -- only this time, he would bring the parents of those children to make the imagistic point. His counterargument to accusation was to prove the veracity of my accusation.

But that's all the left's got on issues ranging from gun control to the debt ceiling: appeals to emotion and to the supposed moral shortcomings of their opposition. It's not just Piers Morgan doing this. It's President Obama, who held a press conference on gun control flanked by small children who had written him letters about violence using guns, then trotted out the grief-stricken parents of one of the children who murdered at Sandy Hook. "[M]ost of all," Obama intoned, " I think about how when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable among us, we must act now, for Grace, for the 25 other innocent children and devoted educators who had so much left to give; for the men and women in big cities and small towns who fall victims to senseless violence each and every day; for all the Americans who are counting on us to keep them safe from harm."

Obama's implication is clear: disagree with him, and you are fine with what happened in Sandy Hook.

That's a vile, despicable Maury Povich tactic. It's daytime talk show material, not honest political discussion about how to solve the problem of murder by guns in the United States. Not one of the solutions Obama proposes would have stopped what happened in Sandy Hook. Adam Lanza would have passed a background check. Lanza was armed with two handguns, not just an AR-15. Limiting the number of rounds per magazine accomplishes nothing, since it takes less than three seconds for a relative amateur to change magazines.

But here's the dirty little secret: this isn't about preventing another Sandy Hook for the left. It is about political posturing. If the left really wanted to be true to its own philosophy, it would simply attempt to repeal the Second Amendment and go for a total British-style gun ban. The vast majority of murders committed with guns in the United States are committed with handguns. Yet the left insists that it wants to leave private handgun ownership in place, while targeting so-called "assault rifles." That's not an attempt at a solution, even from the left. It's just preening for the cameras while pointing to the bodies of shooting victims.

We should be able to have a rational conversation in this country about policies that could prevent another Sandy Hook. Measures with regard to guns can be on the table -- so long as the discussion recognizes the importance of the Second Amendment and balances the rights and responsibilities of owning a firearm. But the left doesn't want to have that discussion. They just want the warm glow of moral righteousness in their breasts, even as they invade the rights of law-abiding citizens while making children less safe than they otherwise would be.

Yesterday, President Obama made two things perfectly clear. First, he will stoop to whatever low is necessary, even using the grisly murder of sweet, innocent children to manipulatively push “forward” his Stalin like gun control agenda. Second, he could care less about the Constitution which, in his words, is a ‘flawed document’. It is a thorn in his side. It is a bump in the road of his desire to be a dictator. It is a document which he not only does not respect, but he will go to any length to attack, twist, and destroy. After all, as he has stated previously, the Founders made it difficult for him to do everything he wants to do.

His answer? RULE BY EDICT.

Conservatives and supporters of the 2nd amendment the Obama regime is using the 2nd amendment argument to blame gun owners for its inability to deal with the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings commited in areas under their solid control using illegally obtained firearms.

Their solution to those inner city problems is to remove those rights provided by the constitution to have and bear arms from all US citizens.
None of those 23 so called “reforms” and unconstitutional efforts being edicted by who some call an emperor do not deal with the following issues briefly outlined below .

They won’t because instead of creating a uniformly democratic society where every citizen has an equal voice no matter what their race or ethnicity.

Obama’s policies have divided races and ethnic groups gerrymandering congressional districts where much of this criminal activity occurs. GOPES {goverment of the people (republican party) elites} see this issue as a 3rd rail because most of it is black on black or illegal vs illegal (Mexican) activity .

GOPES are also afraid to say that policy increased racial tension which has resited in deaths. But again GOPES accept this because of the influence of mainline socialist media which would be accusing them of “racism” if they dare to question it.

The purpose of all this hype on guns is to keep the right and conservatives focused on what the Demo-Coms describe as issues through their propaganda arm known as the MSM (mainline socialist media) not on the problems created by the “Libs” on their road of good intentions or the socialist/fascists/communists successors to comtrol over todays Democrat party; Which is the budget, the debt, and the costs, wastes. and corruption that his administration conceals.

Those edicts will not address or offer a solution concerning the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings using illegaly obtained mostly handguns and revolvers .

Instead they assign code words like “assault weapons” to guns which are legal in every state which are really single shot per trigger pull semi automatic rifles. Used for small game hunting or target practice. That are made to look like their military counterpart, which by the way since Viet Nam and a DOD decision are weapons known as AR’s (automitic rifles) that are small caliber and designed to wound not necessarilly kill which is why they are automatic and fire many rounds once the trigger is in the pulled position. .

Obama certainly can’t critique a system created by his ilk .Ignored in his 23 edicts is that when once caught, perps get set free with lenient sentencing from “liberal” judges or sob sister plea bargain prosecution promoted by the MSM,The New York Times CNN, NBC and,ABC. There’s certainly no criticism of “no snitch” mentality partcularly in areas where these shootings are rampant.

It would be nice at these rallys if speakers would point these facts out to Obamas adoring public.
