Obama’s proposal includes a requirement for universal background checks for all firearms purchases.
“This is common sense, and an overwhelming majority of Americans agree with us,” the president said, citing a survey that he said indicated that 70 percent of National Rifle Assn. members support such a move. The NRA has repeatedly blocked past efforts to require universal background checks. As a result, those checks are not required for about 40 percent of guns sales—including those at gun shows and private transfers.

Linn County, Oregon Sheriff Tim Mueller states “If I cannot enforce federal immigration laws, I’m certainly not going to enforce federal gun laws.”

The more I study the man and his agenda the more I feel like he has a Alinsky style notebook outlining his “destroy America” in the name of”his mentor, FMD. The President lives in Washington DC. Ask him how many background checks the average gun toting High School kid in SouthEast DC has to go through to buy a gun down at Galen and Green St. Guns in Anacostia are sold , loaned , and rented. The President can pass laws till hell freezes over and criminals will still get guns.\
He is only hurting honest Americans.
And he knows it.

When Obama “proposes” anything, you better agree to it. If not, then he will go over Congress heads.

It's not always clearly evident from the beginning. One of his 23 proposals was to inform agencies that the health Care law doesn't prohibit gathering info on weapons. The law does, in fact, bar such intrusions. He doesn't have authority to make such an illegal push, which only a fool would believe he isn't willing to follow through on. Every single Congress person needs to take the same tact. Take it right to the people. Go home to their town halls, bring out thousands of their constitutents and let the people speak. Enough of this crap already. Nobody crowned that POS king.
My US rep privately said these gun control proposals of Barry’s have no chance in the House and he doubts they could even pass the Senate. I agree. Too many red state dems are up for re-election in 2014.

I don’t think there’s enough room in the NY jails for all the people that will ignore this law! I live in NJ and they are starting the same nonsense. I will not comply and hasten my plans to leave this state!

As an alleged "Constitutional Scholar", he should know that, even if he weren't making this "fact" up, public opinion does not trump the Constitution.
